Grantham Glitz: Pink Tutu Sparkles takes on Lincolnshire!

Oh, darlings, did I tell you about my fabulous trip to Grantham? I do hope I’m not overdoing it with these blog posts about my adventures. After all, life’s too short for beige, as my grandmother used to say. But let me tell you, my dear readers, my visit to Lincolnshire was utterly sensational!

This was my very first trip to Grantham, and I must say, the town was a delightful surprise. All that stunning history, the charming cobbled streets, and that majestic castle – absolutely divine! And, darling, it all culminated in the most fabulous evening at the [Venue Name] Theatre. Yes, you heard right! A performance for yours truly. I love playing at smaller venues. You get right up close and personal with the audience and they can truly see how much glitter is involved. Plus, you really get to feel the energy of the town, which is so important.

But before we dive into the sparkly details, let's rewind a little. You see, darlings, I’m a girl who loves to travel. But unlike most queens, I don’t always take to the skies. Oh no! Give me a comfy train carriage, a delicious panini, and a good old-fashioned Agatha Christie audiobook – pure bliss! Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of glitzy air travel – the feeling of soaring through the clouds, that perfect champagne glass… it's like stepping into a scene from ‘Absolutely Fabulous.’ But I find that nothing beats a slow and steady train journey, allowing me to soak up the landscapes and the local charm. So, of course, I boarded the train for Grantham – it felt positively cinematic.

Now, as you all know, I am the self-proclaimed “Queen of the Pink Tutu” - there’s nothing I adore more than spinning around in my fabulous tutu, feeling the tulle twirling, and feeling like a delicate, but mighty, flower in bloom. I dream of getting everyone to embrace their inner-tutu queen! It’s such a symbol of power, confidence, and pure unadulterated fun. In fact, just last week, I hosted a fabulous “Tutu for Charity” event at the Derbyshire County Hospital, where I taught everyone how to twirl in a tutu. Let's just say those medical professionals were channeling their inner ballet star!

But my love of pink and my obsession with all things tutu wasn’t born on stage, darlings! Believe it or not, my drag persona evolved from a bit of a surprising source: the lab. Now, hold on, this isn't a 'Mad Scientist' meets ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ tale! But my day job, my darlings, is actually as a scientist at a fabric research lab. Go on, say it… a scientist. I know! It seems a bit out there for a drag queen, doesn’t it? Well, you see, there I was, in the lab coat, fiddling with chemical solutions, when I landed a chance to dress up for a charity fundraising event – think tutus, wigs, and an oversized feather boa. It was then I realised that this flamboyant costume wasn’t just a costume. It was a vehicle of pure joy, freedom, and self-expression. And well, let’s just say that one tutu was all it took. I haven't looked back since.

But back to Grantham, darlings! It's the perfect place to appreciate the beauty of a vintage style theatre. They’re full of history, character, and, honestly, it makes for such a glamorous experience. Now, on to the show, dear readers! I don't like to toot my own horn too much, but let me just tell you… it was spectacular. I had my signature glittery pink tutu on – this time a real showstopper with cascading tiers and shimmering sequins. For this show, I even included a special “Tutu Storytime” for all the little pink tutu dreamers out there in the audience! (And oh my, did they love it!) You can find some pics of the audience on our website, www.pink-tutu.com.

After the performance, the lovely people of Grantham showered me with love and appreciation – and a handful of perfectly timed “oohs” and “ahhs”. Of course, my outfit was a roaring success (it always is!), and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (okay, that's a little dramatic… but the applause was pretty deafening). But the highlight of the night? The real highlight? Meeting all of the amazing individuals that made the show such a memorable success! There were artists, dancers, costume makers, musicians, theatre staff… oh, it’s hard to describe the sheer brilliance of these people! The energy, the kindness, the absolute love for creating beauty.

I'm not going to lie, the trip was tiring (after all, who needs sleep when you have a life filled with glitter? Oh right, a scientist with a very hectic schedule) - but utterly worth it.

And speaking of my hectic schedule... next on my agenda? Well, after a bit of a beauty sleep, a delectable afternoon tea, and a trip to the most delightful little antique shop I stumbled upon (my dear reader, the sheer opulence of the place, you would have loved it!), I'm planning a grand foray into a nearby county! I haven’t figured out the details just yet… horseback riding, a local market, a ballet class? It's all in the planning stages. You see, darlings, I love experiencing different parts of the countryside, soaking up the charm, the atmosphere, the local quirks… all while embracing my fierce inner queen!

And don’t think for a moment that I haven’t been thinking of you, my dear reader, through all of my glittery adventures. It is all about spreading my message, my dream, my mission: to inspire everyone, every single person out there, to step into their own dazzling, wonderful pink tutus. Remember: the world needs a little more sparkle, a little more whimsy, a little more joy, and most importantly, a whole lot more pink tutus!

And now, darlings, I must bid you adieu. But remember: stay tuned for my next dazzling adventure! And please, share your love of all things pink and sparkly! Until next time!

Love always Pink Tutu Sparkles
