Oh darling, you won’t believe the adventures I’ve had this week! It’s been a whirlwind of pink tutus, twinkling lights, and even a cheeky train journey – which I’ll tell you all about in a moment, darlings. 😉 This week I took my act on the road to the charming town of Spalding, and oh my, it was positively fabulous!
Let’s rewind a bit… after a truly divine week back home in Derbyshire – where I absolutely had to pick up a new pink feather boa from that lovely shop in Bakewell, you know the one – I packed my glitter, my feather boas, and of course, my pièce de résistance: a shimmering pink tulle tutu, positively perfect for a performance under the starry skies of Spalding!
The journey itself was a dream come true. I hopped on a quaint little train, tucked myself in my seat (with a carefully planned pink and sparkly cushion, naturally), and let the gentle swaying motion lull me into a state of complete and utter fabulousness. As we zoomed across the countryside, I admired the passing scenery, thinking about all the tutus that I would inspire in every little town I visited, making the world a more colourful place one sparkly tutu at a time.
Reaching Spalding felt like stepping into a charming time capsule. There’s something utterly magical about those quaint old market towns, don’t you think? You can almost feel the history buzzing beneath your feet! I made a beeline for the local tea room, where I sipped on a lovely pot of tea with a scone and some jam. Absolutely divine! My motto, darling, is “Always embrace the dainty.”
Then, it was time to get to the business at hand: Performing! This week I found myself gracing the stage of a local pub with a stage big enough for my fabulous pirouettes and dramatic flourishes, which was simply delightful! Oh darling, the people of Spalding were so wonderful. They had such a warm reception, a real sense of joy that filled the entire pub – just watching their faces as they giggled and cheered gave me goosebumps. After the performance, the owner even came backstage with a gorgeous bouquet of pink carnations! He said I reminded him of his younger, wilder days, and that he used to dance around in his wife’s wedding dress! (Such a charmer! You'll need to excuse me while I squeal, darling. Such a lovely gesture. The little things! ✨).
Spalding may not have been the most glamorous location, but it absolutely captured my heart! The locals embraced me and my pink tutus with open arms, making it one of the most heartfelt experiences I've had. My heart swells just thinking about it, darling! There’s something incredibly special about bringing joy to people's lives through performance. It reminds me that a simple pink tutu can bring a sprinkle of magic to even the most ordinary of places.
But wait, the real treat came afterwards! Imagine, darling, the sweetest, most amazing news… The owner of the local fabric shop in Spalding, a lovely lady named Margaret, saw my show and was inspired to add a pink tutu section to her shop! Imagine! A whole shelf dedicated to pink tutus! Margaret promised to call it “Pink Tutu Sparkle's Corner” She even wanted a photo of me in my tutu by the section! Isn't that amazing?
Oh, darling, isn't life just extraordinary? I can't wait to see how "Pink Tutu Sparkle's Corner" blossoms. I'm thinking of doing a workshop at the shop later in the year! Imagine, spreading my message of pink tulle and tutus, making the world a bit brighter one feather boa at a time. It’s truly a dream come true.
