I'm currently nestled in the charming town of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, a place so quaint and charming it could have been ripped straight from a Jane Austen novel (except with a lot more sequins!). The journey here was simply divine. You know how much I adore the train, a symphony of clinking tracks and bustling platforms. And let's not forget the sheer joy of a perfectly placed trolley with a delightful selection of biscuits and teas!
Before I even stepped foot in Bromsgrove, my senses were already tingling with anticipation. Imagine this, my darlings: I arrived by carriage! 🐎 Yes, a real, live, horse-drawn carriage, which added a touch of royal elegance to my arrival. Let me tell you, riding in a carriage is one of life's simple pleasures - a perfect way to take in the English countryside. I might just make it a regular thing, you know?
Speaking of elegance, my ensemble for today's travels was simply breathtaking. I chose a bubblegum pink tutu (naturally!), paired with a glittering diamante bustier, and a vintage, pearl-trimmed cardigan, because even on a slightly chilly autumn day, you need that extra bit of glam! The whole outfit was an absolute explosion of color, shimmering in the golden light.
Bromsgrove is like a dream come true for a pink tutu enthusiast like myself! It has this enchanting, historical feel with cobbled streets, old pubs, and charming little boutiques that were just begging for me to explore them. Not one, not two, but three dazzling feather boas, two stunning vintage dresses that begged to be paired with my finest pink tutu, and a whole bagful of brooches just begging for me to find a perfect location for them to take center stage!
No trip to Bromsgrove is complete without a visit to their theatre, and I'm so glad I booked a ticket to the ballet. "Giselle" with a cast full of talented dancers... what a treat! I got so carried away I started to twitch in my seat and tap my toes - you just can't resist when you're in a ballet studio!
And for the grand finale, after indulging in the most delicious Victoria sponge cake, I did what every sensible tutu-wearing queen should do in a new town: I found the best local pub and performed! It was a lively mix of locals, intrigued tourists, and fellow dance-loving souls who were captivated by my sparkling energy! We all joined in on the singalong, and before I knew it, the night was ablaze with music and laughter, all topped off with a spectacular rendition of my signature dance routine (with a surprise guest appearance from a particularly enthusiastic corgi).
Now, you might be thinking: Alex, darling, a corgi? Well, let me tell you, you have not truly experienced a ballet performance until you've shared the stage with a furry friend.
