Blackpool Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Brings The Sparkle (Blog Post #3647)

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you a dose of fabulousness from the glamorous seaside town of Blackpool!

You know how much I love to travel, and my darling, this trip was extra special. This was no ordinary holiday; it was a pilgrimage of pinks, twirls, and, of course, Tutus!

Blackpool is like a giant candy shop for the senses. It’s got those amazing, twinkly lights, that incredible seaside breeze (even in December!), and of course, the famous Blackpool Tower. It's a true haven for a girl who loves sparkle, just like me!

This time, I was bringing my pinkest, fluffiest tutu to grace the stages of Blackpool’s legendary theaters. I love those old Victorian halls, all grand and full of history, but also brimming with energy and the magic of the performing arts! And what’s better than a sparkly pink tutu to make that energy truly sing?

Now, let’s get the logistics out of the way, shall we? I made a glorious trip on the train, enjoying a first-class carriage, surrounded by festive cheer and fellow travellers all on their own adventures. A lady with a fabulous knitted pink bobble hat sat next to me, so naturally, we had a little pink chat and I was able to introduce her to the world of Pink Tutu Sparkle. You know, she even wore pink on the day before! Such a fab first impression for a fellow pink aficionado.

On the other hand, getting from the station to my hotel, a charming, old Victorian bed and breakfast right by the pier, was a little bit of a journey. My darlings, it felt like ages, but luckily, I met a fab fellow drag queen, Tiffany Bluebell, and she took me in her sparkling blue beetle convertible – can you believe the drama?

Upon arriving at my lovely hotel, I was welcomed with hot chocolate and a mountain of pink fluffy marshmallows! Oh, and I can't forget the welcome basket brimming with those divine Blackpool rock sweets, especially the ones covered in pink glitter! It's little details like this that truly elevate a trip, my darlings! I was so giddy with excitement for the magic that was to come.

Speaking of magic, that’s exactly what the show at the Opera House was! My performance there, oh, it was spectacular. You should have seen the audience – all so thrilled by my pink and sparkly outfit, I swear the energy was tangible. Even the elderly couples with canes were rocking to the music! My setlist, of course, included some old favorites, “Let's Hear It for the Boys” with my sassy choreography, and the ever-popular “Barbie Girl” – what could be more fitting in Blackpool?

The best part was that I could actually see a few women, girls, and even men out there, getting inspired by my performance. A few folks were sporting pink – even a little touch of pink lipstick – and a young lady was proudly wearing a pink hair bow that perfectly matched my own sparkly crown. My heart simply melted with joy – it is all about the positive vibrations and love for all things fabulous!

Another highlight of the trip was my surprise trip to the world-famous Blackpool Tower. It was my first time climbing that iconic structure, and it was breath-taking! The views from the top, they are beyond amazing! But what’s even better, it had this incredible, shiny mirrored ballroom, oh my, the whole space was practically begging to be danced in! I didn’t need much prompting to do a full, dramatic performance with my fabulous tutu twirling high, even though there was no audience present, except a bunch of giggling kids who loved the whole spectacle. I guess the real show happens where and when Pink Tutu Sparkle wishes it to be!

You know, the best part of travelling is encountering amazing people and sharing in their joy. That's precisely what happened when I decided to spend an afternoon learning a little ballet at a charming, seaside school. This old Victorian school had this incredible sense of tradition but it was super welcoming at the same time! It even had pink ballet shoes on display in their display window - how fabulous! They must have known a Pink Tutu Sparkles would be waltzing through those doors one day. The teachers were incredibly encouraging, and despite being completely out of practice, I managed to pull off a respectable (and rather dramatic) fouette. I just had to do a little spin, you know how I am about my tutu twirls.

As a little break, I went shopping at the bustling indoor market. I bought this lovely vintage pink dress, oh, and a sparkly pink scarf to go with it. What's even more important is I found this charming little pink shop tucked away, you know, the kind that smells like vintage perfume, it was filled with all sorts of gems, and I came home with a bunch of beautiful trinkets to keep me company in my travels and to remind me of Blackpool.

And talking of travel, oh darling, this wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Sparkles trip without a trip on a horse! My dear friend, Lily, a horse trainer from Lancashire (you know how I love those horse trainers!), came by with her gorgeous palomino mare. She’s the most beautifully tempered mare with this luscious silky pink mane - it’s literally a unicorn in real life! Lily dressed me up in her vintage riding costume (oh darling, it had the most adorable pink saddle and stirrups!) for an elegant little canter along the Blackpool beach, a memory that will stay with me for sure.

What I learnt about Blackpool is, it is all about being bold, embracing the unexpected, and letting loose a little bit of your inner sparkle. Whether it's dancing in a grand old theater, enjoying a spot of ballet, riding along the coast with a pink unicorn, or simply sharing a giggle with a pink bobble hat wearer – Blackpool embraced every inch of my glittery pink tutu!

And now, I’m heading back to Derbyshire, packed with happy memories, sparkling with inspiration and oh, my darling, with more ideas for pink tutu outfits for my next fabulous adventure! I'm even more inspired than ever to encourage you all, wherever you are in the world, to wear pink and, of course, twirl your tutu in a way that makes you shine!

Till next time, keep sparkling, my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles
