Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and today, I'm hopping off the train in Carlisle, ready to sparkle this northern gem! I simply can't resist the call of the North, especially when it comes with the promise of beautiful countryside, quaint little towns, and a whole host of charming folk to spread the joy of pink tutus!
You see, lovelies, this blog has always been about more than just shimmering sequins and dazzling boas. It's about pushing boundaries, smashing stereotypes, and making the world a more sparkly, pink-tutu-tastic place!
Today, I'm off to share the Pink Tutu Sparkles magic with Carlisle, a place brimming with history and culture, not to mention a bunch of people who could do with a sprinkle of joy!
Remember how I mentioned last week's trip to the ballet with darling Penelope? Well, her aunt just happens to be a retired ballet dancer in Carlisle, and she was absolutely thrilled to welcome me for a chat over tea and cake, which naturally included the most delicious pink iced fancies.
After my afternoon delight, it was straight off to the Theatre Royal! They are putting on a fantastic production of Swan Lake this weekend, and you can bet your bottom dollar that Pink Tutu Sparkles is front row centre! Ballet is my weakness, darlings, and you simply can't have a fabulous trip to Cumbria without taking in a performance at this beautiful old theatre.
My day will also involve a delightful visit to Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery. I hear it's full of incredible exhibits about the Roman Empire, medieval times, and the natural world. Imagine the possibilities for an unforgettable photo op! It will also be a fantastic opportunity to see what the Carlisle creatives have been up to.
However, no trip to Carlisle would be complete without a journey into the gorgeous Lakeland fells! You bet I'm packing my pink tutu boots for that, darling, and my trusty waterproof, of course. A long stroll, with a pink-tutu-adorned picnic by the lake? Yes, please! The air is already fresh, the scenery is spectacular, and the call of nature is quite frankly irresistible!
You know, dear readers, this entire trip has been an exciting whirlwind of activity, from booking the tickets, to carefully picking my outfits, to ensuring my pink tutu will be the most fabulous on the street (as always, darling!) And the planning doesn't end there! Every stop along my travels, from the quaint station to the historic streets, deserves the Pink Tutu Sparkles treatment!

This trip to Carlisle has just cemented that! It's going to be filled with fabulousness, adventures, and yes, of course, plenty of opportunities for everyone to get a little bit of the Pink Tutu Sparkles magic in their lives.
But let's get back to me, darlings! Alex (my totally ordinary day job self) has always been fascinated by the beauty and creativity of the world around us. I even did a whole degree in chemistry just so I could better understand how materials like fabric are created and put together! And who doesn’t love playing around with colourful patterns and intricate weaves? But life is all about exploring different facets, and Pink Tutu Sparkles came to me while I was in university ballet club! Remember that annual fundraiser with the old-fashioned, homemade costumes? Well, I decided to wear a tutu for fun, and it was life changing. The feeling of twirling in that pink tutu, the glitter, the sense of sheer fun, it was pure magic, darlings!
Honestly, I was hooked. Every since, Pink Tutu Sparkles has been my way to turn the mundane into magical! From performing at local markets to getting into some of the grandest venues (like my trip to the Globe in London), every experience has taught me so much and been an absolute blast!
And to think it all started with a pink tutu and a lot of glitter! It proves that sometimes, all it takes is a dash of whimsy and a whole lot of glitter to set your world on fire!
