Taunton, Oh Taunton! Pink Tutu Sparkles is in Town!

Post 3726

Well, darlings, I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share this incredible adventure with you! Today I'm stepping into the heart of Taunton, Somerset, a delightful town steeped in history and brimming with charm! And guess what? You guessed it! Your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles, has graced Taunton with my presence, bringing a splash of sparkle and a whole lot of pink to this wonderful place!

Now, let's rewind a little, shall we? As a true fan of the classic train journeys, I bid farewell to my Derbyshire digs and embarked on a beautiful, scenic adventure. You know, those countryside views always inspire a new flurry of blog posts, don't you think? And of course, the journey wouldn't be complete without my faithful travel companion, the Pink Tutu Carryall. It's absolutely fabulous, this pink tote bag with little sequined pink tutus scattered over it, perfect for my latest collection of pink feather boas! (Yes, I must confess I have an addiction to the boas.)

As the train chugged on, I began jotting down my Taunton to-do list, inspired by all those stunning photos I saw online. You see, darling, researching a new city is always the best part. It's like opening a giant pink box of delights - each hidden treasure just begging to be discovered. So, naturally, my list had to include a visit to the Somerset County Cricket Ground, a peek into the Somerset Levels, a pilgrimage to the Museum of Somerset and the magnificent Taunton Castle, and of course, a ballet class - I can't visit a new place without experiencing a new dance studio, can I?

Now, as I write this blog post, you'll be thrilled to know that I've already accomplished at least half of it!

We started the day by doing a photoshoot at the magnificent Taunton Castle. Let me tell you, the grandeur and the history were breathtaking! Imagine standing within the ramparts of such an incredible structure. You just have to feel the stories that are whispered through those old stone walls! The pink tutu provided a wonderfully flamboyant contrast to the castle's impressive backdrop! The castle staff even allowed me to use their cannons for my dramatic poses! It's no surprise my social media feeds are bursting with my dramatic photographs, showcasing the historical majesty of Taunton Castle in all its glory!

After that, darling, I'm not going to lie - I had a hearty appetite for delicious afternoon tea, something quintessentially English! You'd be amazed how quickly those dainty finger sandwiches and mouth-watering scones disappear. Oh, the joy! But don't think I was overlooking my health, dear reader, for afterwards I went straight to Taunton’s Dance Studio for a fantastic ballet class, and let me tell you, it's a beauty!

Honestly, the studio was simply gorgeous, flooded with natural light. My tutu certainly twirled effortlessly against the soft pastel walls, reminding me of a candy floss dream! But that was not the best part. I just had to tell you about the wonderful group of ladies that attend this class. You'd think we had all known each other for years.

These gorgeous women (and the odd gent!) made me feel so welcome and were so generous in offering me words of encouragement. I felt like a queen being treated by the Royal Ballet, my own personal entourage! It really filled me with warmth, dear readers. There is something so humbling about how everyone just enjoys each other's company and lets loose in dance. It is pure, uninhibited joy. And, yes, it brought a tear to my eye!

But after my little moment of introspection, we went on with the fun - I had an hour of dance therapy, my pink tutu bouncing in pure glee. My legs were aching for more but alas, I needed to move onto the final stage of today's adventures. We were off to the Museum of Somerset.

I'd say the Museum is truly a must-see for any visitor. The artefacts, exhibitions, and historical treasures paint a vivid picture of the past, but what struck me was how cleverly they weave in local legends and tales to add depth and personality. It’s a place to lose yourself in time! You know me, darling, always ready to embrace any photo op, I found myself twirling right in front of King Alfred’s magnificent stained-glass window, my pink tutu shimmering like a beacon of light against the rich hues of the stained glass. They say the cameras love a tutu. I certainly made it blush!

Oh darling, it's time for dinner! The local pub I picked - 'The Little Angel' is divine. They have the most beautiful patio, all lit up with twinkly fairy lights, and let me tell you, the food was sensational. My mouth is watering as I'm typing! But alas, all this rambling is leaving me weary, darling. Tomorrow, we conquer the Somerset Levels, I can almost feel the excitement coursing through my pink feathers! But for now, I need to retire and catch a good night’s sleep, dreaming of tomorrow’s adventures and, of course, those delicious English scones!

Until then, keep on twirling, darling, because life, after all, is a stage waiting to be transformed by a dash of pink!
