Hello my gorgeous lovelies! 👋 It's your Tutu Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the stunning seaside town of Newtownards in Northern Ireland! 💖 This is actually my very first time visiting the beautiful county of Down, and I have to say, I'm absolutely smitten! It's like a fairytale come to life, with its charming cobblestone streets, picturesque harbor, and a seriously stunning castle (I might just have to write a ballad about it!). 🏰🎶
My journey here was nothing short of magical. After a breathtakingly scenic train ride from Derbyshire (a bit of a longer journey than usual!), I found myself captivated by the rolling green hills, whispering wildflowers, and charming country villages whizzing past my window. 🌳🌺 It was like a movie montage straight out of a Jane Austen novel! I could just imagine myself riding through the countryside in a vintage horse-drawn carriage, with a charming, brooding gentleman by my side, right? 😉
But let's get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we? Why am I here? Well, you all know the Tutu Queen is always on the hunt for a sparkly adventure! I received an email last week, filled with glitter and joy, inviting me to perform at the local theater. The theme? "Tutus and Tales," my favourite combination of shimmering delight and fantastical storytelling! Of course, I jumped at the opportunity!
Speaking of the performance, I can't wait to share all the details with you lovely lot! We're talking feather boas that could make even the most fabulous swan jealous, a dazzling costume that's literally glowing under the stage lights (let's just say, a whole lot of pink glitter involved!), and a showstopper routine I've been secretly practicing for months. 🌟🤫
But before I spill the beans on the performance, I need to tell you all about my exploration of Newtownards! It was like stepping into a world straight out of a ballet scene, but with a whole lot more fudge shops! 🍬 I've been wandering around the quaint streets, taking in the sights and smells, visiting the most adorable independent boutiques (pink is my weakness, you know!), and indulging in the most divine, buttery fudge I've ever tasted! Honestly, I'm so excited, I could do a pirouette right here on this street corner! 💃
This trip has definitely given me a hankering for more travels. I'm already starting to brainstorm my next big adventure, which will most definitely involve trains, tutus, and a whole lot of twinkling lights! ✨ And of course, you can bet I'll be sharing every minute of it with you on this very blog!

Well, hello again my darling readers! Pink Tutu Sparkles is back, radiating sunshine after a completely magical night in Newtownards! ☀️ It's as if the whole town was covered in fairy dust, twinkling in every direction, but I think it was actually the sheer brilliance of my show that set off those shimmering vibes! ✨🤫 (Just kidding, although, I must admit, I do tend to light up a room or two).
Let's rewind the clock! The performance at the local theatre last night was nothing short of spectacular. The stage was decorated with shimmering pink fabrics, an ocean of fluffy pink tutus that I could only dream of owning, and spotlights that illuminated the stage like a heavenly ballet rehearsal. I swear, the lighting technicians must have been moonlighting as my personal glitter crew!
My outfit, dear readers? Sigh Let's just say that I outdid myself, even by my own, very sparkly, standards. Imagine a cascading cascade of baby pink tulle, swirling in every direction with just the right amount of bouffancy to make every dance move an absolute delight! But it wasn't just the tutu itself, no no! I paired it with a bedazzled, sparkly top, and a truly dazzling array of costume jewelry - it was literally like wearing a constellation of light. The audience erupted with applause and gasps, each time I twirled and glided around the stage! And oh, the energy in the room, oh, it was magical! 💫
Speaking of twirling, my dance routine was a hit! I poured all my energy into my performance, paying homage to the graceful dance techniques I've learned at my ballet classes, and incorporated all the quirky moves I've learned from years of strutting around the dancefloor! Let's just say, my interpretation of the "Tutus and Tales" theme involved a little bit of classic ballet, a sprinkle of street-style, and a whole lotta personality! 💃 I saw some tears of joy, I heard screams of delight, I think one little boy even tried to leap onto the stage with me - all signs of a great night, right? 😁
My final song, as a tribute to my hometown, was a powerful rendition of "Derbyshire Skies" - a beautiful ballad with lyrics that capture the rugged beauty of my homeland and my passion for performance. The audience sang along with me, every heart brimming with the pure magic of theatre and the shared experience of watching a performer pour their heart and soul out on the stage. I know, it all sounds a bit cliché, but I tell you, there was magic in that room. I even received a beautiful bunch of pink roses! 😍
Now, for the truly exciting news, my lovelies! As a part of the show, there was a mini "Tutu Competition," where members of the audience could wear tutus and perform for the judges. Goodbye, Newtownards! Farewell, County Down! Farewell to all the fudge shops, charming cafes, and picturesque seafronts! 👋 It’s been a whirlwind of tutus, sequins, and fairy dust. I had a glorious, magnificent, magical time here. And even though I've had a blast exploring your unique corners, it's time for me to hop back on that train and head back home, back to Derbyshire!
It's funny, even as I sit on this train, I can still see the twinkle in the eyes of the lovely folks of Newtownards. I can hear the echoes of the enthusiastic applause and gasps. I can practically still smell that buttery fudge I devoured with a pink, sparkling smile. 😜 But I also feel a touch of bittersweet nostalgia for those captivating moments under the stage lights, the rush of adrenaline when the spotlight found me, and the thrill of connecting with the audience.
