It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another exciting adventure, straight from the magical land of...Loughborough!
Yes, you heard that right. I'm taking my shimmering, pink tulle cloud across the countryside, leaving the glitz and glamour of the London scene behind for a while to share my sparkle with the lovely people of Loughborough. Who knows what adventures await in this quaint little corner of the world!
The Journey Begins...On Four Legs!
This time, I wasn't hopping on a train. Oh no, this journey called for something a little more...equestrian! I rode my trusty steed, "Twinkle Toes," all the way from Derbyshire. He's a gorgeous bay with a heart of gold (and a surprising amount of patience for a horse who carries a pink tutu-clad queen!). The ride was quite lovely, I must say. The crisp autumn air, the smell of hay in the fields, and the satisfying clink of my pink sparkly reins against the bridle… pure magic!
Speaking of magic, you know I can't resist a little ballet class while I'm on the road. So, I dropped into Loughborough Ballet Studios for a spot of pirouette practice. They welcomed me with open arms, or maybe it was the sparkle that caught their eye? 😉 Regardless, I had a ball twirling in the beautiful studio, feeling every ounce of grace (or at least pretending to). I must admit, their instructors had some moves I could learn a thing or two from!
Fashion Flashback - Loughborough's Best Dressed
After my dance session, I decided to explore the town. Loughborough is adorable, with cobblestone streets, charming little cafes, and an air of unpretentious sophistication. The best part? It was practically bursting with amazing vintage shops. A girl's got to get her fashion fix, even on the road! I found some adorable tweed coats, a vintage silk scarf that will be perfect for a show, and even a vintage tutu that was just crying out for a little pink paint! (You know I had to indulge, right?!)
Of course, my main purpose in Loughborough is my show tonight. I'm performing at the gorgeous Loughborough Town Hall. It's got the most stunning architecture, a true gem of the town. I'm so excited to share some magic with the audience, and I can't wait to see what kind of outfits the people of Loughborough bring out for the occasion! They’ve got to embrace the pink, darling, because as I always say, “Pink is not just a colour, it’s a lifestyle!” 💖
Food for the Soul
To make sure my sparkly performance is nothing short of amazing, I need to keep my energy levels up. I can’t live on glitter alone, after all! The lovely folks at Loughborough Market gave me the sweetest recommendation: a place called The Little Cupcake Corner. Now, cupcakes and drag are a winning combo in my book! Their rose-shaped cupcake was divine – delicately sweet, the perfect bite of loveliness for this queen. I paired it with a spot of lavender tea in the little garden at the back of the cafe, and I was feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to shine!
Loughborough Lights Up
The big night arrived, and my nerves were tingling. You see, a lot of the magic of a show comes down to the energy in the room. My hope is to ignite that energy with my performance, to turn Loughborough into a dazzling dance floor of twinkling tutus and contagious joy! I did a last-minute run through in my dressing room. With each turn and twirl, my confidence grew. I was ready!
I've had so much fun getting to know this lovely town, and its lovely people, I think I'll have to make a habit of adding Loughborough to my tour schedule!
