Eltham: A Sparkly Pink Adventure!

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from the wonderfully festive town of Eltham! It's been a whirl of twirls, sequins, and general fabulousness – and what better place to experience all this than in the home of the Eltham Palace, which boasts both history and a truly beautiful garden. You know how I love my gardens!

This trip is number 4013 in my #PinkTutuTravels saga! As I said, I love Eltham's Tudor-ness, so I started the day by having a delicious afternoon tea at the Eltham Palace Café, complete with a strawberry macaroon in the shape of a tiny crown. I swear, darling, this is a sign. A pink-hued, sparkly crown, whispering for me to conquer this kingdom.

I may not be a queen in the traditional sense, but my royal decrees come in the form of: "Get those tutus on, everyone!" It's my life's mission. Every day I travel this magnificent island, searching for those who need a splash of colour in their lives. Sometimes, it's as simple as adding a touch of pink to your outfit. Or maybe a whole tutu!

Before I could delve into a whirlwind of the past, I just had to visit the local haberdashery, for, you know, my Tutu Needs! Oh my darling, the fabric I found was beyond magnificent. Shimmering silks and the most vibrant, eye-catching pinks you've ever seen! Imagine – a hot pink, feather-trimmed tutu paired with a dazzling lavender top. A look that would certainly turn heads in Eltham Palace! And with Christmas around the corner, I couldn't resist a little tinsel – for my tutu, obviously!

And to think, it all started with a science experiment, my lovelies. You've heard the story, I know: a young, shy science student from Derbyshire (who still loves a bit of Bakewell Tart, by the way) slipped on a pink tutu for a charity event, fell in love, and poof - Pink Tutu Sparkles was born! Now here I am, years later, using my skills as a fabric scientist by day, and creating colourful, sparkly magic on stage by night! And wouldn't you know it, those science lab skills actually come in handy when I'm designing my own dazzling looks, which, as I say, you will be seeing more of, coming to a town near you.

Speaking of dazzling magic, tonight's performance in Eltham is a celebration of "Pink and Proud," featuring the greatest hits of all my fellow pink-tutu-loving drag sisters! We'll be belting out all our favorite classics from the likes of Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, and yes, the legendary Cher! Because darling, the energy in the air when a bunch of drag queens dressed in pink tutus burst into “Believe” – well, you just have to experience it to believe it.

Oh, and speaking of dancing, it just wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu Sparkles blog without mentioning the local ballet school! So before my big night at the theatre, I’m heading to the Eltham Dance Academy to soak up some of that ballet magic. I’m talking pirouettes, arabesques, and all the elegance I can muster – perfect for getting my fabulous self ready to dance with you lovely people later.

There's a little tradition, darlings, where after my shows, I join the audience for a pink tutu party! Everyone’s welcome – no matter what your age or background. I get the feeling there might be some fun dance routines coming our way – and maybe, just maybe, I'll bring out a brand new pink tutu or two to give away! What’s a better gift to someone who wants to feel a bit more pink and a bit more fabulous, right?

So that’s Eltham in a nutshell – pink and fabulousness as far as the eye can see! It's been so wonderful exploring this historic town. This little sparkler’s already got a few more spots on the map for the #PinkTutuTravels diary! I hear York is next... just waiting for that train ticket to arrive...

Until next time, keep twirling and spreading that pink love, darlings! Don't forget, the more, the merrier!

XOXO,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
