You know I live for exploring new places, and this trip has been absolutely divine. Now, Hampstead has this amazing, romantic vibe, all quaint cobbled streets and lush green parks. It's like stepping into a Jane Austen novel, but with more glitter, darling!
Travel by Train? I Think So!
I kicked off this journey in true Pink Tutu Sparkles fashion: a grand train journey! It's all about that vintage charm, isn't it? My tutu twirling to the rhythmic chugging of the train, sipping on a frothy latte with my favourite pink-tinted spectacles, the sunshine streaming in the window... pure magic! I truly believe travel by train is the way to go, it gives you time to enjoy the journey and really embrace your inner diva.
A Pink Tutu Dream
Speaking of divine, my stay at The Grove Hotel was just pure perfection. All grand fireplaces, sparkling chandeliers and a dreamy pink colour scheme. They even had a magnificent grand piano in the lounge. I couldn't help but whip out my favourite fuchsia sequined feather boa and knock out a little Chopin in between nibbling on those delicate pink macarons they laid out by the window. A truly fabulous start to a glorious weekend.
Let's Get Artistic
Now, darling, let's be honest - Hampstead is an absolute paradise for any art lover. From the quaint little art galleries dotting the charming streets to the grand collections of the Freud Museum, it was a visual feast for the senses. My personal favourite was a tiny independent art gallery just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. It was overflowing with colour, vibrancy and abstract shapes. The owner was a delightful woman with an eye for talent - she even said my tutu would be a great addition to her collection, although maybe not hanging on the wall...
Oh, My Delights: Shopping and Snacks
I don't think any journey is complete without some serious shopping therapy, darling! Hampstead had me swooning with all the boutiques - I'm talking handcrafted jewelry, unique fashion pieces and the cutest homeware you ever did see. I snagged a stunning emerald green silk scarf (gotta get those shades of green in my life!) and a set of iridescent rainbow teacups - you know, for those magical teatime gatherings. And of course, a cheeky pink tutu from a little independent designer, just to add to my growing collection!
Afternoon Tea? You Bet!
No Hampstead trip would be complete without an afternoon tea! My lovely companions and I gathered at a quaint café overlooking the sprawling green hills of Hampstead Heath, all dainty sandwiches, fluffy scones, and of course, a bottomless supply of perfectly brewed tea. The views were simply breathtaking! The sun was warm on my face, a gentle breeze rustled through my feathered pink boa... It was absolutely picture perfect.
Dancing the Night Away
Of course, a trip to Hampstead wouldn't be complete without some evening entertainment. I had heard whispers of a burlesque performance at a local theatre. Now, you know me, darling - a burlesque show, I couldn't resist! The costumes, the theatricality, the sassy attitude - it was all simply fantastic. But of course, what made it truly special was when the owner, who was absolutely a dazzling drag queen herself, requested that I join them for a number! We performed a whirlwind of pink tutus and sparkling sequins, leaving the audience roaring with laughter and cheers!
Inspiration Found
Walking back to my hotel, feeling all the glitter and sparkle wash over me, I was brimming with inspiration. I felt that surge of excitement, you know the one... That urge to get back in the studio, experiment with fabrics, stitch new feathers, and create something extraordinary. It was in these moments, darling, that I realized why I love travelling so much!
But remember: it's not all about fancy dresses, grand hotels and shopping sprees!
It's about embracing new cultures, stepping outside your comfort zone and exploring new ideas.
It’s about finding those special moments, those fleeting connections that ignite the spark within your soul and push you to reach new heights! It's about allowing yourself to be swept away by the magic of discovery, even if you're only wearing a sparkling pink tutu and a grin as wide as the world!
