Sutton in Ashfield: A Pink Tutu Adventure!

Hello lovelies! ๐Ÿ’– It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here!

This week's adventure takes us all the way to Sutton in Ashfield! ๐ŸŽ‰ It was post number 4015 for yours truly, so I thought it deserved something extra special!

You know how much I love exploring the UK by train. Well, this time, I decided to mix things up and hop on a beautiful horse-drawn carriage. Talk about a fairytale journey! โœจ My very own "Pink Tutu and The Prince of Sutton" - maybe I should get a catchy title for my memoir? ๐Ÿค”

Now, you're probably wondering what a drag queen like me is doing in a town like Sutton in Ashfield. Honestly? My love of the performing arts, that's what! ๐Ÿ’– There was this fantastic local theater company, putting on a production of Swan Lake, and Swan Lake without a Pink Tutu Sparkles just doesn't feel right, does it?

Speaking of right... my entire wardrobe screamed "pink and twirly!" and my heart did that "thump thump" thing. I opted for a bright fuchsia tutu, complete with hand-sewn iridescent sequins that shimmered under the stage lights. ๐Ÿ’– And of course, the classic pink feathers, a symbol of grace and elegance, which wouldn't be complete without my sparkly pink heels and feather boa! I'm not talking about the "wearable" feather boa, you understand, the dramatically oversized kind you'd see at a Moulin Rouge cabaret! Oh, I loved being able to work that dramatic feather boa to the tune of Tchaikovsky! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've been a ballerina my whole life. (Yes, before the drag!). ๐Ÿฉฐ As you probably know, ballet and tutus are totally intertwined in my world! It was in a ballet club in university that my love for the pink tutu truly began. My friend dared me to try one on for a charity event - it was all she needed to start the entire pink-tutu obsessed life I now live! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Honestly, who can blame me? Pink tutus are the ultimate expression of joy, playfulness, and a touch of magic. I truly believe everyone should experience the joy of twirling in a pink tutu!

The journey to Sutton in Ashfield wasn't without its challenges. Remember, I'm a scientist by day - testing fabric and keeping lab coats immaculate - and a performer by night! The train journey took a few hours, but my fabulous luggage (a custom-designed pink suitcase, of course!) was equipped with a pink make-up kit (and even a pink stain remover pen!), so I was ready for anything! ๐Ÿ˜…

On arrival in Sutton in Ashfield, I found myself in the middle of a bustling town fair. Of course, my intuition was screaming for me to join in, so I did! ๐Ÿ’– The energy of the fair was absolutely electrifying! I played carnival games (yes, even the pink-ring-toss, of course I won! ๐Ÿ’–!), sampled local treats (they had the best raspberry jam doughnuts!), and even took a ride on a vintage Ferris wheel! Just imagine: The wind whipping through my hair as my pink tutu floated against the backdrop of the beautiful autumn sky. It truly was magically exhilarating! ๐ŸŽก

Being a drag queen means embracing new opportunities and connecting with people from all walks of life! And the highlight of my Sutton in Ashfield adventure was most definitely performing for the locals! ๐ŸŽ‰ They were so incredibly welcoming! There I was, under the warm glow of the fairground lights, performing for a packed crowd!

The cheers from the audience as my opening notes of "Dancing Queen" rang out were like music to my ears! ๐Ÿ’– They were living for the sparkly, high-energy show. I swear I could see smiles and maybe even a little sparkle in their eyes. ๐Ÿ˜‰ That's what I love about doing drag - seeing the smiles, seeing the joy. It truly is a reminder of the magic that resides in everyone's hearts.

Of course, no visit to a new place is complete without a spot of shopping, right? ๐Ÿ› As luck would have it, Sutton in Ashfield had a wonderful little independent boutique, tucked away on a quaint cobblestone street. It was filled with vintage treasures and tons of beautiful pink accessories. My shopping spree there was legendary! ๐Ÿ‘š I found the most adorable vintage hat, decorated with more pink feathers and a tiny sparkly bow - perfect for adding a touch of "Pink Tutu Sparkle" to my ensemble!

By the end of my whirlwind adventure in Sutton in Ashfield, I realised there was something truly special about this charming town. The warmth and friendliness of the people, the rich history hidden within its cobblestone streets, and the exciting cultural energy that buzzed through its vibrant town center - I was already planning my next visit!

Until next time, stay sparkly, stay beautiful, and remember - wear pink, wear a tutu, spread some joy, and never forget your fabulous self! ๐Ÿ’–
