Billingham Calling! 💖✨ Post #4069

Hey darlings! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the wonderful, slightly windswept, but undeniably charming town of Billingham! Oh, I do love a good train journey. Especially when it's punctuated by a dazzling array of pink tulle – it's a colour that truly screams 'fabulousness' even from a carriage window! 💖 And yes, my lovelies, I'm still in the middle of my ‘Pink Tutu World Tour’ and Billingham is just the latest stop on this fabulously pink adventure.

As you all know, I have a serious love affair with tutus. I can't remember how many I own (let's just say it's more than a few dozen, each more stunning than the last), but you won’t catch me performing in anything else. They just bring so much joy – all that delicate swish and twirl, they truly embody the essence of pure delight! I believe, wholeheartedly, that a pink tutu is the key to a happier world, so I am on a mission to get every single person wearing one. This is, of course, a gargantuan task, but hey, I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge!

Now, Billingham itself is a gem, it really is! We were staying in this delightful little guesthouse that had, much to my delight, the cutest, pinkest, bathroom I have ever seen! I just HAD to grab a quick selfie there for my Insta-feed (because obviously!). This was my first time in Billingham and I must say, the people here were truly wonderful, so welcoming! I love finding hidden little towns across Britain and getting to meet the amazing characters that make them so special. I am not gonna lie, my trip was primarily about this weekend’s gig at the fabulous ‘Flamingo Lounge’ but, in between getting those performance butterflies flapping, we managed to squeeze in some local sight-seeing, because honestly, you can't travel to a new place and not soak it all in, can you?!

Our afternoon kicked off with a walk by the gorgeous, oh so sparkling, river Tees! The locals tell me this is their little bit of "blue yonder" and I'm inclined to agree. It's a beautiful stretch of water and with the sunshine on the shimmering surface, it’s simply gorgeous! And as always, my heart is totally enthralled by nature's little surprises. This time it was these incredibly cute little robin redbreasts flitting about the branches – such beauty in such a small bird.

Feeling inspired by the beauty all around, and by the chirping robin redbreasts, I decided it was time for a proper dose of glamour, so we headed to this gorgeous little independent fashion boutique, "Vintage Glamour." You’ll find it on … whispers conspiratoriallyinsert actual address here. It's totally the kind of place that just calls to the vintage diva within. Let's just say, the dressing room provided plenty of opportunities for twirling and I left the shop with a new, gloriously glittery, top. Seriously though, there’s something magical about stepping back in time and finding something truly unique – that sense of individual style and flair, it's just so utterly addictive.

On a side note, and just as a little FYI to all you lovely Pink Tutu Sparklers, you HAVE to check out "The Bowes Museum". I am SO sad we didn't get the chance this time around, but from what I hear, this museum is home to some absolute stunners. Think antique furniture, priceless paintings, and just wait for this, they even have a genuine carriage from the early 20th century. Can you imagine me, in full drag, sat on a plush velvet cushion inside that, looking absolutely glamorous?! I'd need my own carriage parade! That's on the list for my next visit, darlings. It just HAD to go on the itinerary.

Now, onto the gig, the thing we were all here for - the heart and soul of every Pink Tutu Sparklers trip – The Flamingo Lounge. Let me tell you, the crowd here was incredible! Everyone was just so upbeat and full of love and they made it one of the most amazing shows I've done in ages! Remember that bit I mentioned earlier about how I want to get the world wearing pink tutus? Well, here’s a secret, every Pink Tutu Sparkle performance has this magical effect, a ripple of enthusiasm and pure unadulterated fun that radiates through the venue and everyone, just everyone, is left with a massive smile plastered across their face. That’s the true power of a pink tutu!

The crowd just adored every minute, dancing to my classic playlist of sassy anthems, the energy was so infectious! Of course, I couldn’t resist strutting my stuff in a vibrant, pink tutu. We had to have one of those special moments where all eyes are fixed on that magical swirl of fabric. It was pure magic!

There was one guy who, to be completely honest, looked like he wasn’t sure if he wanted to be there, but by the end of my first song, he was right there at the front, dancing his heart out! You see, it’s all about the journey – how something small, like a vibrant pink tutu, can unlock that bit of joy hidden inside us all. And to see it unleashed, oh my darling, it just brings tears of happiness to my eyes, I can't even tell you how much it warms my heart.

Oh, and I did have the MOST amazing conversation with a young woman there, the sweetest, brightest girl with a genuine love for dancing! She said she wanted to dance professionally and was absolutely beaming at the sight of my big, pink, feathered tutu. Now, if that doesn't light a fire in your soul, nothing will! Her youthful excitement just made my day.

Honestly, Billingham was just incredible! I love the feel of a friendly, vibrant place. That’s what a true Pink Tutu Sparkle adventure is all about, darling, those unexpected adventures and those beautiful souls we meet on our journey, every single one making our little corner of the world just a bit more sparkle filled.

Well, darlings, I think it's time for this pink princess to find her way back to Derbyshire. So until my next adventure, I wish you all a fabulously pink filled week.

Remember, the key to a joyful life, a dazzling world, is a simple pink tutu. Go out there and sparkle! ✨ 💖
