Hitchin!

Pink Tutu Sparkles Post Number 4072 - www.pink-tutu.com

Darling! Have you ever been to Hitchin? It’s a rather delightful town. It's so quaint, full of charming shops and tea rooms, oh and there’s even a gorgeous Tudor-style building, that I simply had to pop into. It looked just the place for a bit of a photo-op, so of course I put on my cutest pink tutu! I think it worked beautifully with the historical backdrop. You should have seen it! The photo will be on the site shortly, as soon as my brilliant photographer gets his act together, that’s if he doesn’t spend the whole evening staring at my tutu – it happens, oh darling, it happens… Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yes, Hitchin.

I travelled by train of course. Why on earth would I take a bus when a train whisks you along, past beautiful countryside, and then there are those big, plush windows! It’s just such a civilised way to travel!

Speaking of civilized – I managed to squeeze in a performance before my visit. Honestly, some people say it's just not possible to do drag when you're only 5ft2, but I’ll prove them all wrong! I may be tiny, but my outfits are HUGE! My favourite dress right now is a real statement-maker! Think pink, think sparkly, think… enormous. Yes, absolutely enormous. And I wore it to perform to an absolutely wonderful crowd who came out for an outdoor music festival in a local park. What could be more fun than performing in front of a crowd who were absolutely beside themselves with delight! You should have seen their faces as I twirled and sparkled! Oh, it just filled me with joy! And it felt amazing to be outdoors - you can feel so free outdoors, in the sunshine!

Did you know, that I started doing drag while I was studying for my Science Degree? That's how I ended up spending most of my time in the lab and in a pink tutu! Turns out a lot of scientists are huge fans of pink tutus. Who knew?! They can't understand why but they all love my performances. I think they really just enjoy the contrast to the labs where they spend so much of their time! And of course, every single one of them agreed with me - it's a really great thing to just have fun and wear a pink tutu, and if they can't bring themselves to do it, then at least they can enjoy seeing me wear one. After a show at a local college (that was, of course, a science faculty function) I felt so inspired! I’d have never thought a group of scientists would ever cheer me on!

Speaking of cheering on… don’t forget, my aim in life is to get every single one of you wearing a pink tutu. And now, that mission has expanded! I’m really working on a scheme to convert scientists to wearing pink tutus too, if you can believe it! And not just for parties or theatre, but for their daily work too! Just imagine – laboratories filled with people twirling around in pink tutus while mixing chemicals! Just lovely. Imagine! I have so many ideas!

Anyway! It really was a very exciting trip to Hitchin and I just can't wait to share photos and videos on the blog – just in case you missed all the sparkle! Remember, I’ll post lots of photographs and videos shortly on www.pink-tutu.com - if you haven’t subscribed to my blog already then go for it, darling! You won’t regret it, I can promise you.

Lots of love and glitter!

Pink Tutu Sparkles

xx
