Hello darlings, and welcome to my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com! Today, we're stepping out of the laboratory (sorry, science fans - that's my day job!) and into the beautiful countryside of Bicester, a little slice of paradise in the heart of the Cotswolds. I just had to make this journey a train ride, there's nothing quite like a relaxing journey watching the world fly past!
You see, darlings, this week's mission was to sprinkle some Pink Tutu Sparkles magic onto this charming town! The whole experience was fab-u-lous, a true testament to the saying that a journey of a thousand miles (well, maybe just 100!) begins with a single step, or in this case, a twirl of a pink tutu.
Now, I have to confess, when I saw the announcement on the website that the Bicester Ballet Festival was happening this week, I practically flew out the door! (Don't worry, it was still after midnight. And with the help of some strategically placed glittery butterfly wings, of course!) Bicester has been a haven for ballet lovers for years and to have this festival, oh it was just a dream come true. The main hall was even adorned in shimmering pink!
Speaking of shimmer, have I shown you my newest tutu creation? I'm positively obsessed with its multi-coloured sequins that catch the light as I dance, and it just screams "I'm ready to perform, darlings!" But that's another blog post for another day.
This trip has been bursting with glitz and glamour. From meeting the most darling troupe of young dancers who just want to embrace the world of ballet, to catching up with my lovely friend Ruby Rose at the vintage fair - yes, Ruby has joined me in the "Tutu Revolution" and is sporting the most divine sparkly fuchsia creation that looks stunning! I even saw the most fab vintage pink shoes. Just imagine me strutting into the festival with a vintage bag - a truly flamboyant statement piece!
The town itself is so quaint and charming, much like a ballet set, you know? With its picture-perfect stone houses and gorgeous floral displays, it really feels like stepping into a fairytale. I've taken so many Instagrammable pictures, you wouldn't believe! Don't worry, I'll be posting them soon for your viewing pleasure!
It's so important for us all to spread the joy and support local events. We need to show those talented artists that their passion means something. I was mesmerised by the performances at the ballet festival, everything from the graceful moves of the professional dancers, to the energetic steps of the aspiring ones - it was just magical. I even spotted a group of children all in pink tutus! Sniff It warms my heart to see the Tutu Revolution spreading so beautifully.
Now, there's a secret reason behind this visit to Bicester. You see, it’s not all glitter and glamour for me, it's actually about a new collaboration! This fabulous ballet company here are working on a new show that I'm thrilled to be involved with! Remember that sparkly silver tutu with the hand-painted sequins that I showed you a while back? I’ve been carefully crafting it with them in mind. The new show has themes of wonder, transformation, and a touch of pink, of course, and I’m excited to unveil a new creation with them as soon as it’s ready!
After all my adventures, it's time to pack up my glitter and head home. I'm already counting down the days until I can come back to this lovely place. I just know that Bicester will continue to inspire me with its beauty, and who knows, maybe I'll even try out their vintage pink shoes when I visit next!

* This town actually holds an annual pink tutu festival, which you wouldn’t believe! And let me tell you, seeing an entire town full of pink tutus is simply unforgettable!
* My fabulous hair-piece and the feather boa for today’s look were inspired by the intricate patterns found on a butterfly wing. I even tried using butterfly-inspired makeup for a truly magical effect.
* I’m just about to take some amazing photos in front of the famous ‘Bicester House’. There’s even a rumour going around about a secret Pink Tutu Sparkles hideout, but I can’t share too many details... for now.
