Today's post marks a very special milestone, a whopping 4143rd entry on the pink-tutu.com blog! 🤯 Wow, that’s a lot of pink tutus! But honestly, could you ever have too many tutus? 😜
I'm so thrilled to be in Plymouth, a seaside city with a truly fabulous atmosphere! It's got all the charm of the Cornish coast with the bonus of a vibrant arts scene. As a true tutu enthusiast, I’m absolutely living my best life here!
Now, if you’re a regular reader, you'll know that I always arrive in style, which means the journey had to involve a bit of whimsy! 😄 My latest love affair? Trains! I know, I know, everyone’s going green these days but the luxurious feeling of sitting back with a good book, watching the world zoom past – it’s just unbeatable. (Besides, trains are so chic!) 🚄
Speaking of fabulous journeys, I’ve always wanted to take a ride on horseback! Imagine – a gorgeous horse, sleek and elegant, pulling a carriage of pink and sparkle (obviously!) through rolling countryside... it would be absolute perfection! 🥰 Unfortunately, finding a pink tutu-wearing horse wasn't as easy as finding a pink tutu-wearing queen. Maybe I should start a pink tutu horse-riding school? 🤔
The Show Must Go On!
Of course, I couldn't let myself be distracted by train trips or imaginary equestrian adventures for too long. There’s a performance to be had, after all! Plymouth has welcomed me with open arms (and a healthy dose of glitter!) The venue, The Mayflower Theatre, was bursting with energy. And let me tell you, it felt like everyone was wearing a tutu! Maybe they were all secretly influenced by me… 😏
For my act, I chose something special – a homage to the Ballet Russes, but with a Pink Tutu Sparkles twist. Think elegant ballet moves with a whole lot of playful sass! 💃🏻
Honestly, the audience was incredible. You could feel the energy pulsing right through the room. I had them mesmerised and clapping along with every twirl and every pink sparkly move. 💖 It truly was a night of dreams!
A Little Bit of Science... And Lots of Shopping!
Now, while I love to dance and entertain, I’m not just a pretty face! Remember, Alex – the scientist behind this pink tulle facade! 🧪 🔬 By day, I’m a serious lab technician, testing and analysing fabrics – especially tulle, of course! 😜

Of course, I couldn't resist a spot of shopping! I know you've heard it all before – a queen's gotta sparkle! 😉 I’m a total sucker for vintage clothing shops, especially ones with the finest selection of satin, sequins and, of course, pink. Plymouth didn't disappoint! It’s home to some really hidden gems. I picked up a stunning silk scarf that'll look amazing with my new tulle skirt (you'll have to wait for a reveal in my next blog post!), a vintage pink sequin dress for a very special event (more on that later!) and, oh, so many pretty pink trinkets and jewels! 💎 ✨
Plymouth - A Tutu-tastic Escape
This trip has been absolutely blissful. Between performing, shopping and discovering hidden corners of the city, I’ve fallen completely in love with Plymouth! There's something truly special about the energy here - so warm, so creative, so inspiring.
This place has left me wanting to pack my bags and never leave. Except I know my tutu is needed elsewhere. ✈️
