West Bridgford Sparkle!

Post Number 4321

Oh darling, you wouldn't BELIEVE the absolute fray I've had in West Bridgford! This post is coming to you live from the comfort of my little chaise lounge (that's right, a chaise lounge - feeling positively glamorous today) after a whirlwind 24 hours of sparkles, twirls, and the most delightful people this side of the Severn.

Let's rewind a bit, shall we? It all started with a late-night email from a lovely chap in a fabulously pink beret (seriously, he practically matched my tutu!). Turns out, the good folks of West Bridgford were having their annual "Fairytale Festival", a family-friendly event celebrating all things whimsical, with live music, magic shows, and even a few princesses wandering around. Now, how could Pink Tutu Sparkles possibly say no to THAT?

I had just finished a performance at a charity gala in Chesterfield (such a lovely bunch of chaps, and a donation in my name for the animal rescue centre - absolutely lovely!) My luggage, a beautiful rose-gold vintage suitcase (did I mention vintage? I found it in a tiny shop near Buxton, oh you simply MUST visit if you're ever in the Peak District!) was already packed with an entire arsenal of tutus, from the grandest of ball gowns to a sweet little "Pinkalicious" number. So I tossed a few extra sequins into my handbag (never leave home without them, lovelies!), said a quick "See ya!" to the fluffy resident cat at the guesthouse (she was wearing a miniature knitted tutu, I couldn't resist snapping a picture! You can find it on my Instagram, it's quite a sight to behold, I promise!), and jumped onto the train to Nottingham.

Nottingham, darling, what a beautiful station! I adore the vintage clock tower. Ahem, getting sidetracked again - where was I? Ah yes, West Bridgford. After a charming cab ride along the River Trent, I found myself at the fair, practically exploding with anticipation. The scent of freshly made donuts hung in the air, and little kids, eyes wide with wonder, were clutching the hands of their parents. I knew then I was in the right place.

Now, for the next few hours, you could say things got a tad chaotic. The stage was beautifully adorned with balloons and rainbow flags (a personal favourite, and so festive!) and as the MC announced my name, a wave of applause erupted from the crowd. And darling, they had such fantastic energy! Parents and children were dancing and cheering. I did a bit about the time I accidentally walked onto a football pitch during a Premier League match (I thought it was the ballet, but, oops, wrong costume!). You should have seen the looks on their faces - hilarious, and all in good fun. The children loved my glitter bombs! I mean, how can you not adore a good sprinkle of sparkly mayhem?

The highlight of the evening, though, was when this adorable little girl came up to me and asked me "Do you know where the prince lives? I'm a princess, and I need to find him!"

Now, can you even imagine that kind of adorableness? I did have a pink tutu on, after all, but she seemed to accept that as standard attire for royalty! And darling, this is how I got the idea for my new charity initiative, the "Fairy Godmother Foundation". My mission, darling, is to spread sparkle and happiness all across the country, especially to kids like her. Maybe even bring a few tutus into those prince's lives. Just imagine!

But hey, no need to wait for a magical fairy godmother! Itโ€™s the little things, isn't it? A flash of colour, a playful wink, and that little extra somethin'-somethin' that brings smiles to people's faces. Whether youโ€™re wearing a pink tutu, or just a dash of sparkle in your eyes, don't be afraid to embrace the unexpected.

Until next time, lovelies, let's keep the sparkles flowing!

Love and tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
