Kenton Calling: TutuQueen Adventures - Post #4325

Hello, darling dears! Your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to dazzle you with a whirlwind of colour, sparkle and, of course, a whole lot of tutus!

Kenton, oh Kenton! You are a true delight! I've always loved a good British seaside town, and you have captured my heart. So, as the old adage goes, I grabbed my lucky sparkly top hat, my biggest and fluffiest tutu, and hopped aboard the train from Derbyshire, ready for a fabulous weekend of ... tutu adventures.

You know me, darling dears, always up for an adventure! This time, the adventure started with a scrumptious cream tea at The Seaside Cafe, tucked away in a quaint cobbled street. How divine! I'd rather eat a Victoria sponge and a pot of tea every day than, I don't know, breathe. Don't judge, darling dears, sometimes you just gotta indulge in a bit of decadence!

And what did I wear to such a delicious event? Well, what else but a pink tutu! This one, a gorgeous creation I picked up at a charity shop just the other day. It's the perfect mix of frilly and flouncy with a touch of vintage charm - it just screamed "Kenton, I'm coming for you!" I matched it with my go-to pink blouse and a fabulous pair of sequined shoes that I swear twinkle even when it's cloudy. Oh, darling, we need sunshine in our lives, and who better to provide it than a little glitter queen like yours truly?

Oh, the adventures, they never stop! Next up was a wander through the Kenton Promenade, the fresh sea air tickling my nose and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore sending shivers down my spine. You can always spot me, dearies! Just look out for a little flash of pink flitting about in the sunshine - the tutus really do help me stand out. My friend said the seagull nearly swooped down and stole my tutu – lucky I caught it! (Can you imagine, a pink tutu-wearing seagull? Now that would be a spectacle! I bet it could even twirl with a little practice, imagine the possibilities!)

Speaking of spectacles, Kenton Arts Centre was a definite highlight. They have the most lovely collection of local artists showcasing their work – truly a testament to creativity and the talent that blossoms in the heart of a charming seaside town like Kenton. As for me, I put on a dazzling performance, dancing a merry ballet street routine to the tune of a classic showtune – I think I even had the crowd clapping along! What more could a girl ask for?

Then came the performance at Kenton Beach ... oh my! Picture this: me, resplendent in a fluffy tutu the colour of a sunset, dancing under a sky filled with twinkling stars. There was something so magical about being on the sand, the gentle breeze playing with my sparkly hair and the cheers of the audience echoing through the night air. Honestly, it's one of those moments you never forget – it was pure joy, pure magic!

After a glorious evening, I retreated to the warmth of The Golden Anchor Inn. It's the kind of pub where everyone knows your name – well, not literally of course, I'm only in Kenton for the weekend. But still, it has this lovely cosy atmosphere, and I just love those kinds of places. It feels like home away from home.

And, naturally, what's a trip to the seaside without a little shopping? Kenton doesn't disappoint! From quirky little boutiques filled with seaside trinkets to the biggest, most exciting seaside arcade I've ever seen – it's a true haven for those of us with a taste for the fabulous! I had to pick up a couple of souvenirs – a new pink feather boa, some adorable pink seashell earrings, and a cute little tutu for my nephew back home – just because it was pink. My mother can't understand why my niece prefers wearing frilly tutus over a proper outfit when they are at a park. There is just something about a tutu...

Speaking of family, this trip wouldn't be complete without mentioning my dear mother – a woman who has always supported me and encouraged my tutu dreams, though she’s still not sure about this "drag queen" thing – and she's not that enthusiastic about my colour scheme. I have to confess, dear reader, sometimes my passion for pink is a tad too much for some people... It can be quite challenging to explain that the world needs more pink in it, that everyone would be happier in a fluffy, pink tutu, and that even my mum can pull it off (trust me, the sparkle is in there, waiting to be unleashed!)

So, until next time, darlings, keep spreading the pink love!

Always remember: Life is too short to be boring! Embrace your inner sparkle, find your inner tutu, and let your fabulous flag fly! After all, a world full of pink tutus would be a truly wonderful place, don't you think?

Pink Kisses and lots of Tutu Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
