Wellington Wonders: Pink Tutu Sparkles Conquers the City of Wind! 🌬️💖

Hello my darling dears, and welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com, your daily dose of pink perfection! 💖 It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and I'm buzzing from my recent trip to Wellington, New Zealand, the “City of Wind” as they call it. 🌬️

This is what you call a proper holiday! It was a bit of a whirlwind – I took the scenic route by train through Derbyshire, where I started, to London, and then to a fabulous ferry over to the South Island. Honestly, my darling dears, you could barely see the ocean for all the pink tulle flowing out of my windows.

It’s crazy to think how my pink tutu love affair all started at University in that tiny little dance studio at the University of Derby. That's where I first wore a tutu – all for charity, you see – and the moment the pink feathers tickled my legs, I knew I was home. I was obsessed! 💖✨

I'd always had a thing for pink – it's the most vibrant and beautiful colour, darling – but there was something about the combination of pink and a flowing tulle tutu, that just… clicked. Click-clack, actually, because after that first try-on, I spent a good six months doing ballet lessons with my new tutu on. It's no wonder I’m a bit of a science whizz – I can test the stretchiness of fabrics from miles away. 🔬

But I’m getting sidetracked – back to Wellington! I absolutely adored that place, it’s an absolute wonderland of colours and culture! The Wellingtonian’s are absolute sweeties, they adore my sparkle – and when I told them my real name is Alex, everyone giggled with delight!

The city of wind itself, well, you can’t beat it. 🌬️ My tutu, of course, became a bit of a weather vane, blowing in all directions as I walked, and that meant the whole town felt like a gigantic catwalk!

My darling dears, you know I love ballet – the elegance, the grace, the sheer talent – but I also love my fair share of street performances! In Wellington, I spent my time performing on street corners, bringing a touch of pink joy to all corners of the city. Some say there are two sides to every coin, but with Pink Tutu Sparkles, there’s just a constant sparkly twirl in every direction.

Shopping for Sparkle 🛍️

No trip to a new city is complete without a little bit of shopping! 🛍️ Wellington didn’t disappoint. The streets were a riot of pink and fabulous clothes. I snagged the most incredible fluffy pink bolero, darling, just perfect for my shows and for waltzing down Lambton Quay. It matched my custom-made pink sequined heels, which I also picked up – they’re so sparkly, they practically outshine the city lights!

After all, you can’t expect me to go through life in just my tutu – though I have tried – and I think my dear drag mother would give me a good telling off! Though I have been seen wearing my Tutu under an elegant pink coat to church and the Royal Albert Hall.

From the Stage to the Silver Screen 🎬

While in Wellington, I also got the chance to dabble in the art of cinema. 🎬 They’re shooting a little film here about a glamorous drag queen who takes over the city, and, you know, they couldn't let Pink Tutu Sparkles miss out on the fun! 😉 They asked me to consult on the pink outfits, of course, and let’s just say, I did what I could to ensure there was a whole lotta pink tulle in the scene – it’s the perfect backdrop for any fabulous event, you see.

The film crew loved me! It's so nice when people recognize the important things in life - like pink tutus and sparkly feathers. I hope they're inspired to bring their pink A-game to the film, even if they can’t find a single pair of those bright, fluffy feather boas I had made for them.

I was just a little concerned that they didn’t appreciate the way I wear the tulle with my tutu… But let’s just say that it was “all part of the show” – they get the full effect, the whole performance – that's how Pink Tutu Sparkles rolls! I wouldn’t want to do it any other way! 😉

Riding into the Sunset 🐎 🌅

As a bonus to the whole trip, I managed to do some horse riding around the local area! 🐎 The horse I rode, darling, had this magnificent pink mane. And guess what I brought to ride in? Why, you guessed it… my pink tutu, of course!

Now, I’ve got to confess, my dear dears, that horses and tutus don’t mix like chocolate and bananas, you see, at least not on the trail, there’s a little bit of static with those big coats on a horse’s mane but they loved the pink fluff!

The wind was blowing around my tutu – so much so that the horses thought I was one of those oversized fluffy balls they loved to play with. All in all, it was quite the adventure, darling! But I must confess, this pink Tutu Sparkles did come a cropper, I tumbled right out of the saddle in the process of doing a high-kick - that wasn't really intentional, though it did entertain all my neighbours! It was all right, I landed in a nice fluffy pile of manure and rolled right into a patch of pink rhododendrons. Just like that, a princess has to live.

Tutu Time 👗💖

So, darling dears, what’s the big takeaway from this fab Wellington adventure?

Always embrace the sparkle, always wear pink, and never, ever let anyone tell you you can’t wear a tutu!

Even if it’s on a horse! 😂

Until next time, remember to keep it sparkly and stay fabulous!
