Oh, how I love Portsmouth. It has that perfect seaside charm, with cobbled streets, quaint shops, and of course, the glorious sea! But what makes Portsmouth even more special for me, you ask? Well, it’s the wonderful opportunity I had to perform my “Pink Tutu Fantasy” show for a right lovely crowd at the Portsmouth Pavilion. ✨
Train Travels and Tutu Twirls
As you know, darling, I'm a huge fan of the great British railways. Something about the rhythm of the train tracks gets my creative juices flowing and puts me in the perfect mood for a spot of tutu twirling! This time, I opted for a First Class carriage, just because sometimes a queen deserves a bit of luxury! 😉 It gave me plenty of space to do some light stretches and get ready to put on my dazzling show.
Once I arrived in Portsmouth, I just had to visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. I mean, what could be better than combining a bit of history with a touch of glitz? My inner scientist (and my secret daytime persona, Alex) couldn't resist poking around the naval museum. Imagine all those incredible stories behind each of those warships! Talk about inspiration for a costume design!
Portsmouth Pavilion: A Tutu-tastic Performance!
But of course, the highlight of my trip had to be performing at the Portsmouth Pavilion! Oh darling, it was such a delight. From the moment I stepped onto the stage in my custom-made pink tulle masterpiece, the energy was absolutely electric. I swear, every single person in the audience had a smile plastered on their face – including a rather adorable couple, complete with matching pink tutus. It really warmed my heart, making me realise that this isn’t just about performance, it’s about bringing joy to the world, one tutu at a time!
From Tutus to Fabrics, a Day in the Life of Pink Tutu Sparkles
While my nighttime self is all about glitz and glamour, by day, I have a rather different role – I'm a humble scientist, working in a laboratory! My scientific skills, honed at university (remember, that’s where I fell head over heels for tutus!), come in handy in the world of fabrics. Now, you might not think it’s glamorous, but I tell you, the texture of silk or the way the weave of linen catches the light can be just as mesmerizing as a thousand sequins! I swear, my work as a scientist informs my performances! For instance, I designed this amazing sequined costume for the “Cosmic Twirl” number – it took me weeks, but the results are just spectacular.
Spreading the Tutu Love in Portsmouth
No trip to Portsmouth is complete without a stroll along the pier and a bit of shopping, wouldn't you agree? Portsmouth is a treasure trove for a fashionable queen like myself! I found some truly remarkable accessories, a feather boa in a gorgeous shade of fuchsia pink (naturally!), and some fantastic sparkly hair clips, perfect for adding that extra oomph to my performance looks. But what really captured my heart was this beautiful vintage hat, a vibrant teal with delicate pearl accents. Honestly, I could barely contain my excitement!
The Magic of Tutus
Do you know, darling, my passion for pink tutus began back when I was studying science at university. It all started at a university charity event! I wasn’t even going to participate but someone dared me to try on a tutu – and well, let’s just say I haven’t looked back since! The joy I saw in others while I was twirling in that pink tutu made me realise the impact it had – everyone had a big smile! It made me so happy! Since then, my mission has been to bring a touch of pink tutu magic into the lives of others! And what better place to spread the joy of tutus than in the heart of England's gorgeous coastline?
