Loughborough, You're Simply SPARKLING! ✨

Hey loves! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, coming to you live from sunny Loughborough, and boy, oh boy, has this little town got me feeling like a total princess! This is post number 4501, can you believe it?! Time really does fly when you're twirling through life in a pink tutu.

Today's adventures started as a most civilised journey from my Derbyshire lair - by train, of course! Nothing beats that rhythmic clattering of the tracks and the anticipation of reaching your destination. And don't get me started on the glorious views - green fields, quaint villages, even a herd of cows giving me a friendly moo. Honestly, it was like being in one of those beautiful countryside films you just have to cry at.

Loughborough, however, had its own sort of magic. As soon as I hopped off the train, I knew this was going to be special. The air had a whiff of something wonderful - could it have been the promise of a scrumptious cuppa? Or the thrill of seeing my fabulous pink tutu reflected in every shop window? Whatever it was, it got my inner sparkle going full throttle.

Before even arriving at my lodgings, I stumbled upon the most delightful independent boutiques - filled with delightful trinkets, adorable stationery, and oh my goodness, did they have the most glorious collection of vintage brooches! A true drag queen's dream!

My performance was at a lovely community hall, right next to a stunning park - seriously, picture lush green grass, sprawling trees, and a pond shimmering in the sun. I truly felt like I had stepped into a scene from "The Sound of Music" but with a pink tutu thrown in for good measure!

My audience was incredible - warm, welcoming, and totally up for a good time. My heart swelled with joy as I saw little girls in the front row absolutely mesmerised by the sparkly pink cloud that is me. A young girl, maybe 5 or 6, even called out during my act: "Wow, your tutu is bigger than mine!" Gasp! It was then I realised that my life's purpose, the true goal of Pink Tutu Sparkles, was not just to spread pink glitter and sparkle - but to inspire everyone, young and old, to unleash their inner tutu princess!

Of course, no trip to Loughborough would be complete without a visit to the fabulous Loughborough Carillon Tower. Seriously, have you seen that building? It's a sight for sore eyes - it has to be one of the most unique carillon towers I've ever seen. They're talking about making it into a World Heritage Site - I think it deserves it! They've even got a giant clock tower on the outside, the sheer height just sends a shiver down my spine! (Which is a good thing when you're in a giant pink tutu, no?).

Then there's the University. My inner science nerd couldn't resist popping by the Department of Materials, which, strangely enough, also houses an excellent ballet club - the perfect mix of my daytime scientist world and my nightly sparkling world. Perhaps that's why I always found my science lectures a bit easier to handle than the average person, having that sprinkle of ballerina magic always hovering in the background. The secret of all the fabric-testing geniuses? Pink tutus!

After all that sightseeing, I had a most delectable afternoon tea. It wasn't just tea and sandwiches, you know! This place served scones with clotted cream that tasted like pure, heavenly bliss! I can't recommend it highly enough. But honestly, I've never been disappointed by a British afternoon tea, regardless of location! There's just something so wonderfully civilised about it.

This afternoon I'm hitting the streets, ready to show everyone that pink isn't just a colour - it's a feeling. A feeling of joy, empowerment, and pure, unadulterated joy! I’m even thinking of starting a local ballet street performance group – the 'Pink Tutu Sparklers' or the ‘Loughborough Lollipop Lilies’ – I need to ponder over it all and get a bit more brainstorming done! Who knows what fabulous new dance routine I might dream up?

Of course, all this fabulous fun isn’t just about looking good and spreading joy (though let’s be honest, that’s a pretty important mission). I also need to make sure that every sparkling Pink Tutu Sparkle adventure is funded. And by funded, I mean: funded by YOU! (See the donation buttons in the sidebar!) I am incredibly grateful to every one of you who has donated, enabling me to take these magical pink-tutu-filled journeys across the land and bring sparkle to every corner of this wondrous kingdom!

This evening, the real Pink Tutu magic is about to kick in. After my performance, I'm headed to a glamorous (and totally Pink Tutu-friendly) nightclub. Be sure to check back for a photo update later – there might be some seriously fabulous moves and shimmering outfits!

Remember, darlings, keep sparkling, keep dreaming, and most importantly: keep on twirling!

See you all soon, and keep your eyes peeled for post 4502!

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
