Hello my darlings!
It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you another slice of fabulousness direct from the heart of Barking, where I’m enjoying a rather fabulous stay at a rather fabulously pink hotel (more on that later!).
This is post number 4760 - yes, you read that right! 4760 posts of pink-tastic fabulousness for your delectation. I truly am the most dedicated pink tutu enthusiast you've ever met, and let's be honest, that's a pretty exclusive club!
Right now, I'm buzzing! Just buzzing! After a glorious train ride, you know I’m all about the romance of rail travel - particularly the plush velvet seats and the chuffing of the engine - I landed in this brilliant town. And as usual, I have packed my suitcase to the brim with more pink tulle than you could shake a diamanté-studded feather boa at!
So where exactly am I headed tonight? Well, after a day of soaking up the delightful sights and sounds of Barking (and by sights and sounds I mean an absolute frenzy of clothes shopping!), I'll be performing in a very special show at the fabulous "Barking Bazaar." It's a family-friendly extravaganza where everyone can get involved, and as Pink Tutu Sparkles, I love being a part of making magic for little ones. Imagine my sheer delight when I discovered they’d have a huge inflatable pink castle! Pink-tastic, right?!
The hotel, The "Pink Flamingo Inn", truly lives up to its name! Honestly, I can't describe the sheer thrill of seeing a building literally painted pink from floor to roof. The owner is a charming woman who, upon hearing I'm a "Tutu Queen," insisted I take a pink bubble bath. Now, I wouldn't normally do this (who hasn't already seen Pink Tutu Sparkles covered in a sea of bubbles?) but the whole thing was just so deliciously whimsical, I couldn't resist!
Before we dive into all things pink-tastic here in Barking, let’s talk about my journey, shall we? The journey is truly the adventure, right? I left my Derbyshire home, tucked away in my lovely laboratory where I get to be a bona fide science whizz in the mornings, and headed towards the capital! I'm a real scientific guru in the laboratory by day, so, this was a lovely break from all the testing, measuring and meticulously measuring my work. Let's just say that my colleagues will be truly amazed to hear I’m spending time in an actual Pink Flamingo hotel (oh how they'll envy me!). They just won’t understand my love for pink and the pure magic that only a tutu can bring.
Back to my travels, the journey was as delightful as the destinations. A short train trip filled with the wonderful chug of the train and the clickity clack of the wheels. Such joy.
But for my journeys further afield, nothing compares to the pure exhilaration of a horse. Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in all forms of transportation (except for maybe the dreaded “Boris bikes.” But let's be honest, can any mode of transportation compete with a glorious gallop on a well-trained steed? Maybe one of the grand trains, if they offered a full carriage decked out in pink with complimentary feather boas! A girl can dream, can’t she?
You know I wouldn't have it any other way! You can count on Pink Tutu Sparkles to make her way around by any method available. Let’s talk about the latest sartorial treats from my Pink Palace on Wheels. Oh! Did I mention that for this fabulous journey I am riding in a fabulous converted horse drawn carriage - what else is a girl to do! You must love the thought of all that shimmering fabric swirling in the wind!
One more thing, dear reader! For this grand trip, I am pulling together a special collection, a line of limited edition pink tutus dedicated to this glorious town! You won’t find it anywhere else in the world and only those lucky enough to attend my Barking performance will get a glimpse. What makes these tutus so special, you may ask? They feature all the best of my past tours and my inspiration. What better way to immortalize this incredible journey than with a limited edition collection that you can wear for years to come.
Now, dear readers, let's talk about how fabulous a good dance can be! Oh darling, how I do love to twirl. Not only do I perform for crowds on stage, but when I travel, there's a dance performance of some sort I make sure to take in. This time, I have been captivated by the 'Barking Ballet.' My tutu will be a sight to behold! What could be better for a pink tutu queen like myself? This beautiful art form was created by the divine dancer, the graceful swan herself, Martha Graham, whose artistry was the foundation for modern dance! Oh the elegance! The precision! A true example of grace and beauty at its best!
The entire experience was simply magnificent, as if I were transported to a world of wonder, filled with passion and dedication to art. Just seeing all those amazing tutus in motion really inspires me to take my act to another level of sheer pink tulle joy! If I didn't already own my beloved Pink Palace on Wheels, I might just be tempted to learn more! Or at least purchase my own custom-designed one from an artisan! They'll make me the most fabulous tutu-wearer on stage!
What other fabulous things does Barking hold in store? Well, don't even get me started on all the pink tea shops and pink sweet shops in town, because I’ll go on for hours and frankly, you wouldn't be able to find me! Oh and let's not forget the gorgeous street performances – oh the music and the laughter! I do adore that type of theatre! I'm even toying with hosting my own little Pink Tutu Sparkles street performance right outside the Pink Flamingo Hotel.
To keep things perfectly on-brand, my beloved poodle "Pink Sparkles", and I are both absolutely loving the food. This little fella was practically born in the heart of a candy shop! So naturally, my favourite meals on the road tend to feature as many sweet things as possible - you know, those wonderful sweet treats like lollipops and fluffy doughnuts (all in pink, of course!) What can I say? It's essential to eat plenty of sugar to keep this Queen sparkly!
