This week's blog is extra special, folks, as we're about to embark on a grand adventure to the North East! That's right, this little Pink Tutu is hopping on a train to the beautiful Billingham, a town I've only ever heard of through whispers of windswept beauty and Northern hospitality. I'm so excited, my little heart is practically doing a pirouette!
This journey is post number 4843 on www.pink-tutu.com, which is a testament to how passionate I am about spreading the tutu love, and the magic it brings to the world. Honestly, if I've got enough fabric for one more twirl, you've gotta believe, my friends, it's gonna be glorious!
But before I unleash a full-on technicolour explosion of pink frills on unsuspecting Billingham, I've got to spill the tea on how I got here.
It all started, as all good tutu stories do, in the library of my beloved Derbyshire. Back in those university days, when I was just Alex the scientist, still unsure if a test tube or a tutu held the key to my future happiness, I found myself pulled into a whirl of dance madness. A university fundraiser, a borrowed tutu, a spark ignited in my heart! I don’t remember the dance much, but I remember the sheer joy that surged through me when I felt that floaty, ethereal tulle grace my limbs. That's when Pink Tutu Sparkles was born!
Ever since that first flutter of fabric, I’ve dedicated myself to the glorious art of drag, making sure that the world knows about the joys of dancing and glittering in your truest, pinkest form.
Now, fast forward to this very moment, with my train ticket clutched tightly in my sparkly-gloved hand, my tutu ready to take on the Billingham winds, and a heart filled with so much excitement I think it might burst!
Today's performance is at a fantastic little community hall - a true testament to the incredible spirit of North East folk! My set is ready, packed with glitter-dusted surprises that'll get the crowd roaring for more. Expect to see some classic ballet numbers, some heart-pounding Bollywood choreography, a touch of street dance thrown in for good measure, and of course, some truly dazzling original routines featuring - you guessed it! - the most fabulous, voluminous, pink tutus this side of the North Sea!
Packing Like a Pro
Because Billingham's awaiting my fabulousness, I've got to make sure every single twirl and twizzle is flawless. So, my darling Tutu Queens, I'm giving you a peek into the Pink Tutu Sparkles' travel bag, because let's face it, this journey calls for serious, well-curated preparation!
First, there’s the obvious - my Pink Tutu Collection! I've got everything from classic fluffy ballet styles to modern, layered tutus, all in varying shades of pink, because honestly, can one ever have too much pink? The answer, darling, is absolutely not.
Second, my glam station. A queen has to be prepped, polished, and positively primed! So, I've got a massive suitcase packed full of shimmering eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks of every imaginable hue, enough glitter to paint the entire Billingham sky pink, and, of course, an arsenal of pink-hued makeup brushes.
Finally, a touch of sparkle for the journey. I might be travelling on a humble train, but even railway carriage walls deserve a sprinkle of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic! That means strategically placed pink-hued fairy lights to make even the blandest of seating areas shine like a disco ball!
I’m not saying it's a glamorous way to travel, but it's definitely me!
