Wickford: A Tutu-licious Trip! πβ¨
Hello, darling darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing diva, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! π β¨ This is post number 4850, and let me tell you, this one is going to be a corker! Today, I'm whisking you all off to the delightful little town of Wickford in Essex, a journey that was just as exciting as the destination itself. π
It all started, as it so often does, with a bit of a whim and a whole lot of tutu love. I was cruising through my Instagram feed (because what else is a drag queen to do in the morning, right?), when I spotted a delightful photo of a vintage carousel horse. "Why, that looks like the perfect excuse to dust off my tutu and sashay somewhere exciting!" I thought. π β¨ So, after a quick spin through my schedule, I booked a little train ride to Wickford and settled on a quaint little venue called The Playhouse.
Now, my darlings, let me tell you about my Wickford adventures...
From Platform to Playhouse
The train journey was a total delight. I don't know about you, but there's just something so quintessentially British about hopping aboard a train with a suitcase full of sparkle, a hot pink hat, and a mischievous twinkle in your eye. β¨π I made friends with the most lovely group of pensioners who were utterly mesmerized by my look. (They even said I was a real 'Queen' - what an absolute hoot!) I felt like a character out of a fairy tale, only I had more fabulousness going on. β¨
As soon as I reached Wickford station, I was greeted by the most adorable little street. Cobbled pathways, pastel-coloured buildings, and cute little independent shops... it was practically begging for a photoshoot! πΈ I whipped out my phone and captured a few snaps for my Instagram story, because sharing the fun is, well, the whole point of it all, isn't it? π I also popped into a quaint little tea shop called "The Pink Teapot" (did I tell you I love the colour pink? - because I REALLY love the colour pink! ππ) and enjoyed a scrumptious scone and a spot of tea with a local gentleman who called me a "modern day Mary Poppins." He also had the audacity to suggest I try on one of his daughter's tutus. Can you imagine? "Thank you, but I've got a whole wardrobe of them, love! I'm rather well-equipped when it comes to tutu!" π
Show Time! β¨
The Playhouse was small and intimate, exactly the sort of place where I could really connect with my audience. This show, I decided, was going to be all about "A Fairy Tale in Pink." So, I wore a gorgeous pink tulle tutu, sparkly pink boots, a pink feather boa, and topped it all off with a pink feather headdress. (Okay, maybe it was a tad overkill... but let's be honest, I couldn't resist!) πΈβ¨ I even made sure my makeup was extra glittery with pink eyeshadow and pink lipstick, just to complete the look. π
The audience was an absolute joy - full of friendly faces and lots of enthusiastic cheers. I felt a little bit like Cinderella, a little bit like Tinkerbell, and a whole lot like me! I belted out a few classic pop tunes, danced my way through a routine I had choreographed myself, and finished the set with a rousing performance of "Tutu Time is Now!" - my new anthem about encouraging everyone to embrace their inner-sparkle. π€ππ It was absolutely electrifying!
The Magic of a Tutu
Speaking of embracing sparkle, I just have to tell you, Wickford was absolutely buzzing with people excited to be a part of the "Tutu-liciousness" that is Pink Tutu Sparkles! π Everyone wanted a selfie, a hug, and even a bit of advice on how to incorporate pink tutus into their daily life! (Don't worry darlings, it's easier than you think! π). It's all about finding the right shade, the perfect tulle, and the sprinkle of sparkle that makes your heart sing! β¨
As the day ended, and the crowds dispersed, I sat on a bench outside the Playhouse and watched the world go by. It was such a surreal, incredible feeling, knowing that I had managed to bring a bit of magic and sparkle into this little town. I thought to myself, "Alex, you are truly making a difference in this world! One pink tutu at a time!" π
So, until next time, darling darlings, keep your eyes peeled for the Pink Tutu Sparkles. You never know where she'll show up next!
Lots of love, Pink Tutu Sparkles πβ¨
P.S. I also stopped by a ballet shop on my way to the train station. It was pure heaven! So many gorgeous leotards, tutus, and all the fancy ballet shoes you can imagine! π©°β¨ You know, I've always wanted to take a ballet class, even though I'm probably too old (but don't tell anyone, okay?)! π Perhaps one day, my darling darlings... perhaps one day... π
