I've always had a soft spot for seaside towns, the fresh sea air, the laughter, the salty breeze whipping your hair around your face. Honestly, darling, just heavenly. But today's adventure is a little different, it's about Broadstairs! 🎉 This historic town nestled on the beautiful Kent coast, oozes charm. And what better way to embrace this charming place than by twirling in a pink tutu under a summer sky?
The Journey Begins... 🚂
Well, I know I talk about tutus a lot but let's get back to the trip. Now, you all know my weakness? Train journeys. Honestly, who can resist a good train journey? The clinking of glasses, the delicious smell of hot chocolate, the endless conversations. It's a journey that sets the mood just right for the next big adventure.
Now, Broadstairs isn't a quick jaunt from my humble Derbyshire abode, so this time it was a train to Canterbury and a hop on the beautiful coastal line all the way down to the town. Each station with its quaint name and seaside charm set my anticipation soaring, and every clickety-clack of the train wheels added a little more shimmer to my heart!
Broadstairs: A Sparkling Oasis of Fun 🩰
Broadstairs, I love you already! The moment I stepped off the train, I felt like I'd been whisked away to a wonderland. A world filled with sunshine, the rhythmic crashing of the waves, and the friendly faces of locals and holidaymakers alike. I've just got to share it with all you gorgeous pink tutu lovers out there.
Where To Eat! 😋
My darling, a girl can't live on seaside air and sunshine alone! Where does a tutu-wearing, fabulous diva go to refuel? Right, right... The deliciousness! Now I'm no culinary expert, but you'd be shocked by my adventurous taste buds, and this trip, they went wild! I practically devoured Broadstairs like a ... Well, let's just say I did it justice, my dear! 😉
First stop? The "Salty Mermaid," a small independent seafood restaurant. This place was an absolute dream, and the "Mermaid platter" a true delight. You see, they even let me indulge my love for all things pink by letting me pick the prettiest pink lobster! Oh, darling, I'm blushing just thinking about it! 💗
The Broadstairs Beach Experience 🌊
The Broadstairs beach was a whirlwind of activity, and my dear, it had it all! From a seaside carnival filled with the sweet smell of candy floss and the melodic tones of carousels, to a bustling market buzzing with local crafts and produce. There was even a quirky little art gallery that showcased all sorts of imaginative creations. I especially loved the beach scene where I even dared to don my tutu and do a twirl. You see, even if I wasn't in a show, you can still catch me twirling for a photo. It just happens!
An Evening Stroll, Pinkly of Course! 🌟
As the sun started to set, casting its golden rays over the beach, I wandered through the narrow, cobbled streets. Oh my, they were a kaleidoscope of beauty and charm, with quaint shops and picturesque cafes lining each side. The air was crisp and clean, making me feel like I'd truly escaped from the city. It was like stepping back in time, I found myself charmed by the ancient cobbled streets, Victorian houses, and hidden courtyards.
The Broadstairs Pier is a must-see and honestly, what better way to take it all in than with a delightful cone of freshly churned strawberry ice cream? That's what I thought! I took my treat to the end of the pier and indulged in the breathtaking view, the salty sea breeze caressing my skin, the calming waves serenading my heart, while savoring my pink ice cream cone! It felt so incredibly surreal, like I'd entered another dimension. A world where tutus reigned supreme, and happiness was measured by the number of twirls one could manage.
This Time, A Magical Dress-up Evening! ✨
My darling, no trip to Broadstairs could be complete without a little drag magic! I'd lined up a performance at the local pub, which by day had the most beautiful views, and by night transformed into a bustling and fun drag-filled evening! And oh darling, let's just say, I didn't disappoint!
Now I am a firm believer that no show is complete without the dazzling pink ensemble. So for Broadstairs, I chose my "Sea Sparkles" tutu. I just couldn't resist the pink shimmer under the stage lights. And honestly, those shimmering pink tulle layers, dancing in the breeze, and reflecting all the love from my wonderful audience was simply fabulous!
You know I am not shy about embracing a pink theme for a whole evening, so I picked a stunning hot pink feather boa, a shimmery sequined jacket with big, dazzling silver embellishments that glistened with each and every move, and some vibrant hot pink make-up to match my feathery pink hair!
Oh darling, the laughter of the audience! The smiles, the cheering, the requests for selfies! Every minute of the performance was truly unforgettable, a whirlwind of sparkly energy, feathers, and of course...Pink! The music pulsed through the space as I strutted my stuff across the makeshift stage, every twinkle of my tutus perfectly synced with the beat. This was my magic. It's just the energy of life in the pink that draws them in! I don't even have to speak. You can call me the Queen of the Silent Show! 😉
