Hello my lovelies! This is Post #4984 on www.pink-tutu.com, and I'm here with a fresh dose of sparkles for your Saturday morning! Today, we're venturing to the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, where I'm set to perform a show at the beautiful Playhouse Theatre. Let me tell you, the journey was half the fun.
This fabulous trip started bright and early with a steam train ride from Derbyshire - yes, the rolling hills, the charming pubs, and my own private kingdom where I get to experiment with new tutu looks. Let's just say, a four-hour train ride is the perfect time to work on a new look, you know? I brought a whole trunk of new fabrics I've been hoarding, and a few old tutus that I thought needed some refreshing - a bit of glitter never hurts, does it?
Now, Weston-super-Mare is a little haven for tutu enthusiasts like myself. Imagine, you’ve got the salty sea air, a beautiful beach where I can strut my stuff in a brand new tulle creation, and enough quaint tea shops to get your sugar fix. And did I mention the theatre? A jewel of Victorian architecture and the stage where I’ll be spreading pink-tutu joy tonight. It’s a dream come true.
I had an adorable outfit planned for my first stop. Let’s be honest, my travel looks have to be comfy, stylish, and absolutely pink. Think of this - a flowing pink maxi-dress, cinched with a bright pink satin belt, and, of course, my signature pink glitter stilettos. It was so vibrant and felt like a burst of sunshine against the blue sky. Then I finished it off with a soft pink beret and, my absolute favorite, a fluffy pink feather boa that just swayed with each gentle step. Oh, I must have looked so dashing!
I wouldn’t leave Derbyshire without visiting the bakery that's near the station. The most divine cupcakes lined up, every flavour under the sun. Of course, my go-to is pink velvet – it just speaks to me, doesn’t it?
On the train journey, the other passengers kept smiling at me and waving. They were mesmerized by my outfit, especially the giant pink tote bag I carry, full of things like makeup, spare glitter, a feather duster for touch ups, you know the drill!
Now, one of the most exciting aspects of this journey was definitely the train ride itself. Did you know that the steam trains are an incredible journey? I adore watching the world blur past, taking in the landscape, breathing in the fresh air, it's a perfect balance to the rush of being a drag artist. Plus, who doesn't love a vintage train? It feels so magical!
When I finally arrived at Weston-super-Mare, I knew I had to experience the local scene. So, I took a leisurely stroll through the town, a hot pink drink in hand, observing the world going about its business. Now, this is the bit that inspires me! A mother with her children on their day out, dressed in bright colours. The teenagers having a blast on the pier. Everyone embracing the joyful summer days! This energy just oozes through me.
It truly is inspiring seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter. Makes me want to sprinkle the world with more sparkles and, yes, convince more people to wear tutus! It is my lifelong mission, my lovelies.
So, what does a fabulous Tutu Queen do when she’s in Weston-super-Mare? Well, she must try out their renowned fish and chips! This tradition has to be experienced, and what’s better than a fish and chip shop, with a delightful red and white striped awning, overlooking the sea?
For my big evening show at the Playhouse Theatre, I'll be pulling out all the stops. Picture a grand performance filled with glittering tutus, a colourful costume change or two, a dose of heartfelt ballads, and, of course, some light-hearted jokes that'll make you giggle. But, my true ambition? Getting as many audience members as possible into a pink tutu – after all, what's life without a touch of playful fabulousness?
