It’s a little colder up here than in sunny Derbyshire, but honestly, that’s no deterrent for a girl in pink. 😉 I'm just so thrilled to be here, twirling into a new city and sharing my sparkle with a new crowd! You know I love to travel, and after last week’s whirl in Brighton, it's exciting to get my pink tutu dusted off and explore a brand new corner of the UK. It’s always an absolute joy to be in a new place, discovering all its hidden gems and experiencing the local flavour.
The Journey North
I adore a good train journey. I mean, let's face it, there’s something inherently glamorous about chugging through the countryside, with your favourite playlist bumping and a cup of steaming tea warming your hand. This time, I opted for a first-class ticket, a little treat for this little Pink Tutu. The views were spectacular, especially as the rolling hills of Derbyshire gave way to the lush, green landscapes of northern England. I felt like I was travelling through a Constable painting, and my imagination went wild, dreaming of romantic tales of the past!
And, naturally, a travel ensemble must be just as exciting as the destination. I had chosen a shimmering pink sequined jumpsuit (because sparkles always make everything more glamorous!), paired with my signature voluminous, pink tulle tutu, of course. 💋 It made me stand out on the train, even amongst all those dapper, well-dressed businessmen! Several times, I got approached by excited youngsters wanting to take selfies with the queen in her glory. I'm all for spreading the sparkle and inspiring others, and you'll never hear me complain about a cute kid wearing a handmade cardboard crown for the perfect picture opportunity!
Carlisle – A City of Unexpected Delights
Carlisle welcomed me with open arms! It’s a quaint and charming city with a vibrant culture that's definitely worth a visit. There's something undeniably captivating about its history; you can almost feel the whispers of centuries gone by. We explored the iconic Carlisle Castle, where I was totally captivated by the majestic towers, imposing walls, and breathtaking views. They're just begging to be immortalized on your Instagram feed, ladies! 💖
And after some delicious local cuisine (a delicious Lancashire Hotpot – perfect comfort food in a chilly city!), we headed to the Tullie House Museum. Honestly, I was amazed by the art and artefacts on display. It gave me such a newfound appreciation for this vibrant city.
Sparkling Performances
Now, let’s talk about the exciting bit – the performances! As you all know, this travelling drag queen loves nothing more than bringing joy and glamour to audiences across the UK. My performances in Carlisle were pure magic! 💫 A lively pub setting on Friday, followed by a captivating theatrical show at the city's most beautiful theatre. The energy in the room was incredible, and I swear, I saw some smiles so wide they threatened to split their faces! I gave my all for my incredible Carlisle audiences, channeling the spirit of both my Derbyshire roots and my pink-tutu-loving soul.
The setlist was an explosion of pop anthems, vibrant colours, and of course, enough sequins to blind a glitter-phobe. 💅 My performance included a brand new dance routine that my beautiful backup dancers and I created especially for the Carlisle crowds. 💃 You know, I may not be a trained ballerina, but even a queen in a tutu needs to have some moves! I always strive to create a dynamic show that combines elegance and playfulness. Every dance move, every sassy remark, every flick of my pink feather boa is carefully orchestrated to inspire laughter, awe, and pure joy. The sheer passion and energy radiating from the crowd filled me with such joy and made the whole experience utterly unforgettable.
Spreading the Tutu Love
Every single one of you knows how deeply I believe that everyone deserves a moment of pure, unapologetic sparkle and happiness! One of my favourite parts of these adventures is interacting with the local communities. It's never a drag, if you'll excuse the pun! This week was no different. The people of Carlisle were warm, welcoming and just loved getting their picture taken with the queen! ✨
As always, I had some of my beautiful, pink tutus ready to be given away to enthusiastic audience members. After all, what’s more uplifting than sharing a piece of your inner sparkle with others? I saw such genuine happiness on their faces when they donned my tutus. I simply melted with delight as they embraced their own unique form of joy. I can’t imagine anything more fulfilling than witnessing the power of pink tutus to create joy and confidence in people, regardless of their age or background.

Carlisle, you stole a little bit of my heart with your warm hospitality, stunning views, and beautiful history. You reminded me that every single city, town, and village has its own unique charm waiting to be discovered.
