Right, back to Salisbury. Now, Salisbury, if you've not been, is like stepping back in time. Beautiful cathedral, stunning countryside views... and did I mention that I had an amazing fish and chip supper while gazing at the old clock tower?
Now, you know me, love, I had to arrive in style. It was an absolutely magical journey, starting off in my home county of Derbyshire. No, I didn't just hop on a train - why would I, when a horse-drawn carriage is available! I was treated like royalty, my pink tutu flowing behind me, catching the breeze as we went. And my god, was it the most elegant and beautiful entrance ever. Seriously, even my tutu was impressed.
You can imagine the look on the faces of the townsfolk, and then the sound of their gasps when they saw my sparkling tulle bouncing as I arrived in the village square, where a bunch of children had gathered! They were completely entranced! One little girl even gave me the biggest grin and yelled, "Pink Tutu, you look amazing!" You could see their parents melting from sheer joy.
After a bit of a good old chat and impromptu dance routine, it was off to my favourite local dance studio to stretch and hone my moves. And trust me, when I tell you this place was incredible. All the students looked so sharp in their white leotards and little tutus. Even some of the older girls gave me admiring glances. It's quite something, feeling all those eyes on you, and I guess you can say that after all this time in drag, I'm well used to it. But hey, a girl loves to feel the adoration!
Let's be honest, it’s been so long since I felt like a school girl! So what did I do? Naturally, I threw on a pair of black tights, got my best blush and lip colour on, slipped into my most divine pink tutu and practiced the same routine with all these youngsters. It's the power of pink tutu solidarity, babe, you know! You'd be surprised, how many boys, I mean, young men, were actually interested in seeing how the pink tutu danced! They thought I was pretty spectacular. And of course, who am I to disagree? 😉
After class, it was back into my pink-and-sequinned-everything mode to prepare for my grand show in the evening! It wasn’t in a typical theatre – oh no – this was going to be something special! We were doing it outdoors! A fairground, all the thrills and chills, and of course, me, on the stage, belting out a classic with a big fat pink tutu. The place was buzzing with families, the atmosphere was electric!
Imagine, love, the carousel lights reflecting on my glitter, the crowd going wild every time I pirouetted. Oh, I swear to you, it was glorious!
Afterwards, the people, everyone from children to grown-ups, wanted to take a photo with Pink Tutu. And yes, some even dared to join me for a dance! Can you believe it? You see, the power of the pink tutu, even in these small English villages, is strong, love, strong! I could tell some of these women were itching to ditch their regular attire and slip into something a little bit sparkly.
