Hello, darlings! It's your Tutu Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with post number 5078 from the fabulous world of www.pink-tutu.com! Today's tale takes us on a trip to the charming seaside town of Great Yarmouth, a destination that truly lived up to its name – Great! ✨
As a self-proclaimed Tutu Queen, I simply had to see this coastal gem, a place where the smell of fish and chips and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore bring back memories of childhood holidays. And what's better than a trip to the seaside? A trip to the seaside in your most fabulous tutu of course! 😉
The journey itself was an adventure. You know I love the train - it's all about the journey for me! I had my usual outfit – my signature pink tutu (with extra sequins!), a glittering pink bomber jacket, and my signature bright pink lips. Just a casual Tuesday, you know! 😅
The carriage was pretty quiet, as I settled in for my afternoon ride. It was lovely - there were these gorgeous panoramic views of the fields, as we moved through rolling hills, until the cityscape emerged - the sea appearing at last in the distance. We were soon heading for the grand, old fashioned station, full of those magnificent arches, with the seafront on the right. I almost felt transported back in time!
My first mission? Find a little bakery. My drag family knows I'm all about those adorable cakes! It was tucked away in the most adorable little cobblestone street, and the baker looked slightly startled by my entrance, but then, with a charming wink, brought me a slice of strawberry cake – simply delightful! (Don't tell the ballet master!) 🍓
With a sugar rush (and a feeling that my next tutu purchase will be all pink feathers and sparkly embroidery!) I made my way to the theatre – the main reason for my visit: a stunning ballet performance! My favourite ballerina was dancing – oh, the passion, the elegance, the emotion. It took my breath away! Later, I saw some of the dancers, a gaggle of lovely young things who looked genuinely touched by my excited chatter. One of them even complimented me on my Tutu, giving me a sweet thumbs-up! 💖
This was the real icing on the cake of my day, but Great Yarmouth was a whole adventure, as if out of a Victorian storybook. It had that quaint charm, full of cobbled streets and beautiful buildings - perfect for photo opportunities (tutu'd up, of course!) I had lunch at the most lovely little seafood restaurant - the calamari was delicious! 🦑
Then came the highlight of the whole day: my performance at the Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach! The people of Yarmouth were brilliant! A truly lovely, welcoming audience, happy to see my show. And who knows – maybe they even took inspiration from the fabulousness of the Tutu Queen herself! 👠
Even the kids at the carnival loved my tutu – they were squealing with delight, saying “look, Mummy! A princess!” My heart warmed to these delightful children – the future Tutu Queen's? You never know! ✨
Now, it was a busy night. The night's performance at the pier took place at sunset. What a sight – the water glittering gold as the sun slipped away behind the waves, with the silhouette of a fairground Ferris wheel against the bright sunset, just stunning! But as always, the stage lights came up - and it was back to my dazzling self. The energy of the crowd – was wonderful, just like they were my friends. And that’s how I felt. Everyone in the audience were friends; everyone dressed up! A real celebration. A lovely way to end the night!
And the next morning? It was off on a train again! Back to my lovely Derbyshire, with a million pictures of Great Yarmouth in my head! You'll all have to excuse me while I put on my Tutu and twirl! I have my heart set on Great Yarmouth as my new Tutu Queen home-from-home!
