This is actually my 5092nd post since I started blogging – crazy, right?! 🤪 Time really does fly when you're having this much fun! 🌈
But back to Small Heath... It's been calling to me for months, with all those whispers of hidden gem vintage shops and vibrant street art. You know I just HAD to check it out! 🤫💖
This time, I travelled by train, because I have a thing for railways. You just can't beat the romance of a steam engine!🚂 Although I am sorely tempted to try riding a horse from here on out! 🐎 Honestly, can you imagine a Pink Tutu Sparkles parade through the English countryside, on a horse, in a fabulous pink tutu?! It would be the most majestic sight ever! 🦄💖
Anyway, I arrived at Small Heath feeling absolutely buzzing! You wouldn't believe the stunning scenery here! I mean, those old buildings, with their brickwork and cobblestones... It's like stepping into a fairytale! 💫
First stop, the market. Of course! It's a vintage lover's paradise, filled with unique pieces begging for a second chance. Let's just say my shopping bags were bursting at the seams, but trust me, darling, it was all worth it! I found this exquisite sequined bolero jacket, absolutely perfect for my next performance, and I'm already dreaming up the perfect pink tutu to pair with it! 😉💖
But before you ask, yes, I still think you should all be wearing pink tutus, every day, all day. 🤪 Just try it, honey. It's liberating! 💖 It's like putting on your own personal magic cape and unleashing the inner sparkle. 💖
After a delicious (and pink, naturally!) afternoon tea at this delightful cafe with vintage furniture, I visited one of the local art studios, where they have a fascinating display of contemporary artists. And oh, honey, they were inspired! Such colour, such passion! The creativity was positively bursting through the walls! ✨🎨
Speaking of bursting, let's talk about the amazing food I found here! Did you know that Small Heath is a foodie heaven? I just HAVE to tell you about this incredible fish and chip shop - it had the crispest fish, flakey on the inside, golden and crisp on the outside! They have the most amazing curry sauce too, with a spicy kick. It really rounded off the entire day! 🤤
By the way, did I tell you I'm a scientist by day? I work in a lab, testing fabrics for different properties like strength and elasticity. But let's face it, my heart's always been on the stage, ever since I stumbled into my first tutu during a university charity event. Remember how I mentioned I'm from Derbyshire? Yeah, it’s all a bit of a surreal whirlwind. From studying science in the lab to wearing pink tutus on stage, my life is definitely an unpredictable adventure! ✨
