Today we're headed for the beautiful Lake District and the much-anticipated Kendal Calling festival. This little queen's so excited - not just for the music, but also for the chance to spread a little bit of pink tutu magic amongst the festival crowds!
You know me, I'm all about living life in colour - and what better way to do that than with a good dose of pink? This trip I'm sporting a brand-new tutu, shimmering with sequins like a constellation of pink dreams! I'm talking about a glorious tulle explosion, a masterpiece of swirling pink perfection! It's my go-to for any event where I need to really make an impression, and honestly, who doesn't want to feel a little bit fabulous?
Speaking of fabulous, Kendal is always such a beautiful setting. This town has the most charming little streets, filled with cafes and bookshops and just oozing history and charm. I can already imagine the festival atmosphere - bustling with music lovers, the air alive with laughter and chatter. I just know it's going to be a weekend of magical moments. And guess what? I'll be spreading the pink tutu love at every opportunity! Who knows, I might even tempt a few festival-goers into rocking a tutu themselves - think of the amazing photos!
Speaking of the festival, my set is already planned and I’m working on some truly glamorous looks. I'm thinking of some bold, vibrant makeup - maybe a shimmery pink eyeshadow and some statement false lashes to make my eyes sparkle. Of course, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles performance without some stunning outfits! I’ve been busy pulling out all my favourite pink garments. Think ruffled bodices, sequined jumpsuits, and some absolutely divine feather boas, all in varying shades of pink! It's going to be a veritable explosion of colour - I can barely contain myself!
Now, let's talk about my journey here! Nothing quite compares to a train journey for a good old fashioned adventure, wouldn't you agree? The swaying rhythm, the scenery whizzing by - it's all part of the fun! This time I was lucky enough to find a window seat. I gazed out at the fields rolling by, a tapestry of green and brown stitched together with hedges and the occasional glimpse of a meandering river. Honestly, it was a breathtaking display of nature’s artistry - much like my new tutu, which was, of course, my main companion for the trip! The train journey always sparks my imagination - I just get so excited about where I'm going and the amazing experiences waiting around the corner. And let's be honest, it's just much more glamorous than a car!
Being a drag artist means constantly seeking out new performance opportunities, whether it's a local fair, a cabaret club, or even a music festival! It keeps me on my toes and forces me to be incredibly resourceful - after all, I wouldn’t be able to travel and perform as much as I do without it. But for me, the reward is worth every effort! There's just something so special about performing in front of a crowd, connecting with people through music, dance, and fashion - all with a sprinkle of pink tutu magic!
Now, a little something about my love for tutus! I wouldn’t be Pink Tutu Sparkles if it wasn’t for my obsession with these whimsical wonders! For those who don’t know, I discovered the joy of pink tutus while studying for my science degree - can you believe it? Yes, this girl with a passion for fashion was also a budding scientist! I’d always loved ballet and was a member of the university ballet club. During one charity event, I got to try on a pink tutu and - boom! A transformation occurred! My entire perspective on the world shifted! Pink tutus - they were pure magic, the perfect mix of femininity, fun, and utter fabulousness!
The pink tutu just makes you feel like you can conquer anything! It's a symbol of creativity and a celebration of individuality - something we could all do with a bit more of, wouldn’t you agree? From that day on, I knew I needed to bring a touch of pink tutu magic to the world - and that’s exactly what I'm doing with my drag act and these very blogs! The goal is simple - inspire everyone, even just for a moment, to step outside their comfort zones and embrace their inner pink tutu!
