Oh darling, how absolutely divine is Liverpool?! The moment I stepped off the train and into that fresh, salty sea air, I just knew this trip was going to be utterly fabulous. As soon as I saw those bright red brick buildings, I felt the urge to grab my pink tutu and start twirling.
This trip has been a long time coming, I tell you! It's not easy getting a little tutu-clad queen across the country, but thanks to a lovely, sparkly sponsorship deal with a local travel agency, I was able to hop aboard the train in Derbyshire and make my way to this glamorous port city. Let's just say, my wardrobe was certainly the centre of attention on that journey, I swear everyone was giving me side-eye with envious glares! Ha! The journey was just delightful though, watching the English countryside roll past my window, I just felt pure joy, darling! I almost started a spontaneous performance for the fellow travellers on the train - a few cheeky twirls and a little sassy shoulder shake would've certainly spiced things up! I was very nearly overcome by the impulse to show off my signature āPink Tutu Pranceā move!
Liverpool itself is just fantastic! From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home! The architecture is just stunning, so majestic and colourful. Even the pigeons seemed to be wearing their finest feathered gowns! The energy in the air is absolutely electric! You can just feel the passion and creative buzz. I must confess, dear readers, Iām having the time of my life!
Before even making it to the venue, I popped into this absolutely divine shop! It's called "The Boutique on Bold Street." You simply must add this little gem to your list of stops if you're ever in Liverpool. Darling, the amount of beautiful pink tulle I found was just astounding! You can practically smell the pink sparkle and feel the ruffles! Oh, if you saw the outfit I managed to get, youād be utterly speechless! A sequined hot pink jacket with pink, silver, and blue embellishments - an absolute stunner! Itāll look absolutely divine with my signature, feather-trimmed pink tutu!
But letās be honest, this trip is all about my performance at the āSparkling Stage.ā Itās been completely sold out for weeks! I canāt believe how excited the local crowds are to see their favourite pink tutu queen! What a privilege it is to bring a little sparkle and a whole lotta twirling to this delightful city. The atmosphere backstage is already fizzing, and you can just feel that good energy is going to transmit to the audience when the lights go down. I canāt wait! I think we're going to have a spectacular time! Iām so excited!
I must share with you a few glimpses of the dayā¦
Right from the moment I stepped out of my comfy hotel room, which had this gorgeous, big bay window looking onto the bustling street, I felt that feeling of "this is my moment!" It was like a little tutu-clad superhero arriving in town!
My performance is later tonight, so first, I did a little bit of "sightseeing." It was the perfect opportunity for me to capture a few Instagram-worthy shots of my fabulous pink ensemble! And did I ever mention the sunshine, darlings! It felt so good on my skin. Liverpool has that delightful mix of warmth and seaside air, with just the tiniest pinch of the blustery breeze youād expect by the sea! The sunshine made the pink tutu gleam!
After the sightseeing and a delightful fish and chips lunch - honestly, it was one of the best fish and chips I've ever had - I took some time for myself. I treated myself to an hour of relaxation with a cup of English Breakfast tea and a good read. And yes, it involved some serious daydreaming. I just canāt get over the way those pink sequins reflect in the light, the way the ruffles bounce when I twirl. Itās like a dance in itself! I can't stop thinking about the amazing stage setup they have planned, the sound, the lights... oh, I just want to get on with the performance already!
After my little moment of zen, I was ready for the final stage of my preparations - hair, makeup, and more sparkle! Let's just say, the transformation from Alex, the everyday scientist in my lab coat, to Pink Tutu Sparkles is something special! The face glitter is like magic, the mascara transforms those eyelashes, and the lipstick is a bold, confident statement! I love the feeling of becoming a new person! But, most importantly, a new version of myself, with that added touch of confidence, creativity and joy that comes with the pink tutu. It's a whole mood, darling!
With everything perfectly in place and the energy flowing, I'm feeling excited and a little bit nervous about the show! All those eyes on me, the sound of the cheering crowds, the spotlight on my pink tutu! It's going to be spectacular! And thatās what Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about, darlings! I'm all about bringing a little sparkle to everyone's day, and I truly believe everyone looks fabulous in pink tutu. Whether it's a bright fuchsia, a baby pink or a delicate blush, itās an accessory that just makes people feel good. Even if it's just for a few hours on stage! Itās about the joy of performance and finding your own unique sparkle.
As soon as Iāve got my costume on, itās like a magical transformation. I forget about the lab coat, the microscope, and all the scientific calculations. For a few hours, I get to step into a world of feathers, glitter, and joyous movements! And as soon as the audience feels that energy, they just start clapping, cheering, and singing along! And that's my greatest reward, seeing them dance along with me.
