Oh darling, can you believe it's already time for another Pink Tutu Sparkles post? The world just keeps on twirling faster than a ballerina's pirouette, and me, well, I'm right there with it, twirling my way across the continent! Today's post, my lovely readers, is all about Lyon, a city that's become absolutely smitten with my favourite shade of pink and, of course, tutus!
You see, I've been having an absolute ball (and let's be honest, that ball's definitely pink) travelling by train recently. Now, you might think it's a tad "old school", but I can't resist the charm of watching the scenery whizz by, all whilst feeling incredibly glamorous in my pink tutu and sparkly leggings (a winning combination if I do say so myself!) It feels positively Victorian - imagine the excitement of seeing all the amazing sights from the train window, all while travelling in a beautiful gown or a daring dress. The whole experience is just pure escapism and absolutely divine.
Anyway, back to Lyon, my French friends. What an absolutely fabulous city! It's like a picture postcard come to life! And when you step into the heart of the city, you feel like you're in a fairy tale, the kind that would star none other than moi!
Oh my word, you just have to visit Place Bellecour, which is right in the middle of Lyon. It's a gorgeous, wide-open space, and oh my gosh, the most glorious views. It's also the perfect setting for a impromptu Pink Tutu photo shoot, right? You bet! Picture me, spinning with delight in a fluffy pink tutu, a shimmering sequined top, and matching feather boas! Just fabulous!
And when your tummy needs a bit of TLC (and a Pink Tutu Sparkle needs to refuel, duh!) it's off to one of the charming little cafés in the area! I'm a sucker for delicious French pastries and a frothy cappuccino! Just don't tell my personal trainer that! ;)
Speaking of personal trainers, let's not forget how crucial a proper ballet class is for any Pink Tutu Queen. In Lyon, it's just like stepping into a story book, only with a side of ballet barre. I popped into one of the beautiful, traditional dance schools that you'd find in an old movie (one of those romantic movies about ballerinas - totally my style!)
I absolutely adored the class! It was such a privilege to be surrounded by lovely people who were all sharing my passion for dance. It filled me with such happiness!
Afterwards, there's always a trip to the theatre, where I absolutely love soaking up the atmosphere before a fabulous performance. This is the moment that gets my tutu heart truly thumping. The vibrant atmosphere, the sense of anticipation, the anticipation of getting to see the stage light up - oh, it’s a whole vibe!
Now, when you talk about theatre and performance, of course I've gotta spill the tea about my own fabulous performance. The Pink Tutu Sparkle show at the Palais de la Bourse was just... magical. They loved the show! My set, all pink with dazzling sequined accents, sparkled brighter than the Eiffel Tower at night. I mean, who needs an Eiffel Tower when you can have Pink Tutu Sparkles? You got me. ;)
It's hard not to get caught up in the whole spectacle when you’re surrounded by such beauty.
Here’s the thing, though. When all is said and done, it’s the people who make Lyon such a special place. They are warm, welcoming, and, frankly, just gorgeous. They truly embraced the Pink Tutu philosophy of joy and fun - it’s all about making the world a more fabulous place, one twirl at a time.
My darling readers, it’s truly hard to say goodbye to Lyon, but every goodbye is just a "See You Later", right? I’ll be sure to bring back memories and stories of the most wonderful city that has such a special place in my pink-tutu-filled heart.
