Hammersmith Sparkle: A Pink Tutu Dream

Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in live from…drum roll… Hammersmith! I've arrived in the big smoke with my trusty suitcase bursting at the seams with all my best pink tutus (ahem, you wouldn’t believe the logistics involved with transporting these fluffy masterpieces!), and I'm ready to share the experience with you all.

This, my dearest glitter-obsessed friends, is post number 5215 in my never-ending quest to bring pink tutus to the world, one glittering, swishing, fabulous step at a time. Now, I know what you’re thinking, "But Pink Tutu Sparkles, don't you get tired of all this pink?" Never! My love for pink is like the ever-burning flame of a thousand candles… always alight!

This trip was particularly exciting, because I was not only booked for a smashing gig at the local theatre, but also to meet up with some lovely ballerinas I’d befriended on my last train trip. We even had a tutu-themed ballet session - the most divine time! Just the thought of it sends shivers of sparkly joy down my spine.

Remember how I told you all that my day job is a scientist, testing fabric in a lab? Well, you might not know, but that helps me a lot with choosing the right tutus! There’s an amazing science to tutu-making - the weight, the material, the way it swishes, even how it catches the light... I tell you, there’s a PhD in those puffy clouds!

Now, you wouldn’t believe how I got here, Darling! No flying for me, oh no! I have to tell you, this time I chose to arrive by train. Yes, by train, like a glamorous, high-speed princess travelling through time, arriving in my perfect pink feather boa and a dazzling sparkly outfit, drawing glances from every single person! This was no ordinary train journey, you see; it was a magical escapade. The world zoomed by in a whirlwind of colours, while I enjoyed a glass of prosecco (don't judge me!), and made a few new friends. You never know who you might meet when you're wearing your tutu and spreading the pink love, darlings! But then again, wouldn’t you prefer the countryside over being squashed into a plane with the rest of the world? Just imagine that – a Pink Tutu Sparkles, all cramped in, with a perfectly coordinated outfit - I’d burst at the seams!

But my arrival at Hammersmith, you won't believe it, wasn’t without incident. Remember how I mentioned I'd met these lovely ballerina friends on my train trips? We decided to travel by horse for part of the journey. And as always, Pink Tutu Sparkles embraces every opportunity for fun and a touch of whimsy! It was absolutely wild! You would've laughed. You wouldn’t believe it, but we were actually spotted by a film crew, they seemed particularly interested in the horse we chose… a gorgeous white stallion decked out in a fetching purple saddle, it was quite divine. Imagine the pictures for our blog! And me, with my pink tutus, twirling amidst it all... a perfect fairytale moment, darling. You can check out our photo diary for some incredible shots! (link here).

I’ll have to tell you about the gig at the Hammersmith theatre in my next post! It was a full house with some absolutely fabulous faces in the audience. Oh, I do love a good crowd - a beautiful blur of excitement and applause! Let's just say it was more of the pink glitter love-bombing you all know and adore.

So there you have it, my dear friends. Pink Tutu Sparkles is alive and well and flourishing in the vibrant and chaotic heart of Hammersmith! As always, the goal remains the same: spread the pink joy, and one day, we will all be twirling in our pink tutus.

Until next time,

Your dear friend, Pink Tutu Sparkles xx

# And now for some backstage snippets of life with Pink Tutu Sparkles in Hammersmith:
  • The Pink Paradise: You know those dreamy vintage stores overflowing with tulle and sequins? Oh, darling, I found one in Hammersmith. I mean, it was practically an Aladdin’s cave of tulle, sparkle and feathery boas – everything my heart could desire. I practically fell in love with every item.
  • Dancing Queen: Okay, so ballet is a lifelong love for me, and there are some truly gorgeous ballet schools in this part of town! Who needs fancy classes? Let me tell you, I'm taking some fantastic lessons in one little place called Ballet de Luxe - where I just can’t get enough of the pink dance room, the twirling classes, and all the incredible teachers who just get me!
  • Hammersmith High Tea: Remember the fabulous ballerina friends I met? They insisted we must all experience a proper Hammersmith high tea in the grandest venue in town. Darling, they took me to The Grand Tea Room, a truly extraordinary space, so grand and opulent that I had to stop and remind myself to twirl.
  • Pink Tutu Eats: Oh, I know I already told you about the incredible lunch in a truly lovely pub where I discovered some new must-try recipes! Well, they did an amazing roast chicken dinner. If you find yourself in Hammersmith, go and enjoy a plateful of that tender, delicious bird (and don’t forget to ask about their incredible apple crumble – heavenly!).
  • The Pink Tutu’s Fashion Tip: When I travel, I never go out in anything other than my brightest pink, most spectacular outfit! There's no point in going half-way! So let’s all embrace our fabulous colours. And for today, here’s a little tip from the Pink Tutu Sparkles handbook – in Hammersmith, darling, don’t be afraid to stand out, wear those big shoes! The town’s alive with music and laughter, and it just demands a touch of glitz and glamour, so embrace it!

Oh, darling, that was a whirlwind of an adventure, wasn’t it? But you can read all about the rest of it – including the details of that exciting theatrical performance - on www.pink-tutu.com!

Remember to be your own pink princess! And don’t forget to twirl.
