Oh, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, glitter-loving queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous adventure! Today's story is all about my recent trip to the charming town of Ashton - and I must say, it was a truly tutu-rific experience!
You know how much I love travelling, don't you? A quick train journey, the excitement of a new town, and the thrill of the unexpected are my happy place. Plus, there's no better place to inspire a new drag outfit than a quaint, picturesque town!
This time, I had my eye on a vintage costume shop, rumour has it they had the most fabulous feather boas and headbands. My sequins were a-flutter with excitement. You see, the thing about drag, darlings, it's all about the costume! And what’s better than a vintage accessory? They just scream glamour, you know what I mean?
I was so excited, I practically leaped off the train platform and practically danced into town! The wind whipped at my bright pink tulle as I walked, my sparkly flats clinking on the cobbled streets. And let's be honest, how could I not turn a few heads when I looked this divine? The look, it just draws people in. Maybe it's the pink, or maybe it's the tutu. Perhaps it’s a combination of both. Whatever it is, it gets attention! And attention is something a girl can never have too much of, wouldn’t you agree?
My first stop, naturally, was the costume shop. As soon as I pushed open the door, a wave of glitter and vintage glamour hit me. It was magical! Now, you know I’m not shy about finding what I like, and after much digging and trying things on, I ended up with a dazzling, emerald green boa – so glamorous! And I discovered the most amazing pair of feathered, black feather headdresses, perfect for a cabaret night! This, darlings, is what I call shopping therapy!
Of course, after a bit of retail therapy, I couldn't resist stopping by the Ashton Market to mingle with the locals and check out what they had on offer. I saw some of the most unique crafts I've ever seen. I'd say the town is very much alive with a thriving community.
Later on, after a delicious afternoon tea at a quaint little café - nothing like some finger sandwiches and a good scone to set me up for the evening – I visited Ashton’s Theatre. They were putting on a delightful musical, which I loved – not my typical drag cabaret, but it had such great choreography and beautiful costumes! Seeing other artists inspires me, makes me want to step up my own performances! It was definitely a great day for ballet, don't you think? That’s the thing about tutus, darling, they can be taken just about anywhere!
Then, as evening descended and the twinkling lights lit up the night, I stepped into Ashton's charming pubs. The atmosphere was warm, the laughter easy, and I had the most delightful conversations. We spoke about everything, from my colourful attire to the upcoming drag queen contest in town. Let’s just say I didn't let them forget who was wearing the most amazing pink tutu!
And to end the night, I went on a spontaneous bus tour with a lovely group of Ashton residents – turns out they loved my style! Who knew this quiet, little town held such kind and fabulous people! I sang and danced along with the group on the tour. It was pure fun, pure laughter, and just plain perfect!

You’ll be delighted by its warmth, its community spirit, and – most importantly – the beautiful things it offers, including (dare I say) the possibility of encountering a tutu-clad, glitter-covered queen, like yours truly!
