#TutuQueen on 2014-07-27 stars in Fleet

Oh darlings, it’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, back from the vibrant, historical streets of Fleet, Hampshire! I have a confession, lovelies: the day I stepped off the train (which, darling, had to be the most luxurious steam train ever!), I just felt a deep connection to this place! Maybe it’s the quaint little shops, or maybe it’s the air of magic hanging in the air. Whatever it is, Fleet was an absolute joy.

This trip started off like a dream, a vision in pink tulle and feathers! I was performing at a gorgeous Victorian fair, surrounded by carousel music and the sweet scent of toffee apples. I always love a good fair, they give off that whimsical charm. Honestly, it’s almost impossible not to sparkle more in a fair, the vibrant colours, the delicious food, the exciting sounds…It makes your inner-child (or is it your inner-tutu wearing ballerina?) do a pirouette.

My first performance at the fair was nothing short of magical. The crowds cheered and roared with laughter, I had my usual gaggle of “Pink Tutu Angels” all dolled up in their finest pink attire, (oh darling, there were even some tiny, fluffy tutus on the little ones!) - It felt like a little pink tutu kingdom for a few glorious hours! It just proves that pink can indeed take over the world, one glittery, feather-boasting, fabulous tutu at a time!

After my show, I managed to have a quick pit stop at the most adorable pink candy floss stall I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I indulged in the most delicious raspberry and strawberry-flavoured treat! Oh, and the girl who ran the stall, darling, she looked absolutely fabulous in her handmade pink tutu (with sparkly glitter! The queen knows what she’s doing). It turns out, Fleet is brimming with amazing crafters and bakers who just get it! The creativity was radiating out from every corner, even the flowers at the local florist seemed to be swaying in a flamboyant pink tutu ballet.

My Fleet Adventure

This town has it all, darlings! From historical museums showcasing the beauty of local art and crafts, to beautiful open parks where I could dance to my heart’s content, and, oh darling, let’s not forget about the stunning 16th century parish church. I practically pirouetted into the stained glass windows, they were just breathtakingly beautiful, truly reflecting the radiant colours of a rainbow tutu. It’s the perfect backdrop for an instagram snap, don’t you think?

I managed to squeeze in a trip to Fleet Pond Nature Reserve. A walk through a peaceful woodland and riverside walk, a proper picnic (don’t worry, darlings, everything was pink! A pink picnic rug, pink tea in pink cups) - pure bliss! You know I always advocate for pink, and sometimes a dash of pink really can uplift even the greenest nature reserve, it’s all about that perfect touch of whimsy.

Now, darling, Fleet wasn't just about the fair and the sights - it was about the people! I met the most lovely people at the Victorian fair, the people I met at the craft stalls were all so encouraging, and the kids, darling, they just love a bit of pink and sparkle, honestly! I think there might be a whole new generation of pink tutu lovers being born!

Oh, and while we are on the subject of children, did you know that Fleet has an amazing academy where budding performers can train and learn ballet, drama, music, and arts. That’s where I met Miss Lily, a talented little ballerina who gave me the best pink ballet lesson, she practically pirouetted circles around me! It warmed my heart. I swear darling, this child could join a professional troupe in a heartbeat. I had to bring out a pair of pink sparkly pointe shoes as a reward, and trust me, her eyes lit up like a thousand pink twinkles. I mean, who doesn't adore a bit of sparkle in their ballet life?

My heart is already missing the vibrant energy and charm of Fleet! Oh darling, I’ll definitely be back. I’m even planning to write a musical number called “Fleet-in’ Pink”.

To Fleet - I’m already missing your captivating charm, your artistic spirit, and the sweetest pink candy floss I ever tasted! I know my love for all things pink will only keep me coming back. After all, this tutu queen always knows how to spread a little pink magic, don't you agree?
