Bridgwater Bound: A Pink Tutu Odyssey! ✨💖

Hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous travel tale! This week's adventure took me all the way to the charming town of Bridgwater, nestled in the heart of Somerset! Now, if you've been following my journey, you know I'm a sucker for a good train ride - and this trip was no different! With a hot cuppa in hand and a stack of vintage Vogue magazines (fashion research is essential, babes!) I settled into my plush carriage seat and enjoyed the scenic countryside whizzing by.

It was a glorious summer's day when I arrived in Bridgwater, and the sun was beaming down, which was perfect because this trip was all about dancing! I've been absolutely obsessed with ballet lately, ever since I stumbled upon this incredible ballet troupe from Bristol performing at the local fair in Derby. You could just feel the passion in their movements - truly inspiring! It got me itching to step onto a stage again, and as luck would have it, I was invited to perform in Bridgwater as part of their "Bridgwater in Bloom" festival!

Of course, every performance needs a little wardrobe magic, so my dear friends at The Fashion Emporium in Derby were busy whipping up some absolutely stunning new looks for me! You all know how much I love a statement tutu, and this time was no exception! I found the perfect blend of frilly and fierce in a vibrant hot pink tulle number - I felt like a dancing strawberry cheesecake! Paired with some sparkly heels and a cascade of pink roses in my hair, it was a complete masterpiece!

Arriving at the festival was like stepping into a wonderland! Everywhere I looked, there were blooming flowers, delicious smells wafting from stalls, and the sound of laughter echoing in the air. I took a moment to soak in the lively atmosphere and breathe it all in.

My performance was scheduled for the main stage at dusk, when the sun began to set and the sky turned a beautiful fiery orange. I took a moment backstage to get ready - I do my own make-up and hair, and it’s quite the process - a touch of shimmering gold eyeshadow, some ruby-red lipstick, and a generous helping of glitter! This is one occasion I really can't leave out the hairspray, dear readers, because it’s quite the balancing act to stay poised with such a voluminous tutu!

As I stepped onto the stage, a wave of excitement washed over me! The crowd was buzzing with anticipation and the sound of cheering greeted me as I did my grand entrance, a sassy pirouette followed by a curtsy. Then it was time for the show to begin!

For this performance, I had prepared a delightful mix of ballet, modern dance, and some of my signature Pink Tutu Sparkles fun. It's always so much fun to watch the crowd’s faces light up, especially the kids! I love making little ones laugh with my little dance moves, a twirl of the pink tutu, and the occasional air-kiss! I truly believe that dancing can be enjoyed by everyone - it’s all about having fun and expressing yourself!

By the end of the performance, the crowd was roaring with laughter and applause. That feeling of bringing smiles to faces with my art - that's what I live for! As I walked off stage, I could feel the warmth of the crowd, and I knew this would be a performance I'd treasure forever.

After a night filled with magic and sparkle, it was time for me to hop on that train back to Derbyshire. Exhausted, but glowing from the success of the show, I was already looking forward to my next adventure! You see, being a travelling drag artist isn’t just about the performances; it's about experiencing life, embracing new cultures, and making connections.

Speaking of connections, this trip taught me a lot about myself and the power of community. The folks at Bridgwater in Bloom were incredibly welcoming, and they even set up a little market stall for me to sell some of my pink tutu accessories! We got chatting with tourists, fellow performers, and local businesses – it was just beautiful! I also made some great friends among the ballet troupe. In fact, they even invited me to join them for a session of ballet classes! I’ll have you all know, my ballet isn’t exactly as fluid as theirs! They had to adjust some of the steps for my… "unique" style! We all laughed about it, but it's great to get that friendly coaching - you never stop learning!

My trip to Bridgwater was a delightful reminder that a bit of pink tutu magic can bring a spark of joy to any occasion. I’m absolutely thrilled to have had the opportunity to share my love of dance with a whole new crowd of lovely people! Until next time, stay sparkling, darlings!

XOXO, Pink Tutu Sparkles
