I've always wanted to venture north, and this opportunity came up for a show at a fantastic fair. I just couldn't say no!
Billingham was a truly unique experience. It's so different from Derbyshire, my home county! I have to say, I fell in love with the charming, industrial charm of it. But before we dive into all the sparkling details, I must tell you about the journey itself. Oh, the journey!
A Regal Rail Adventure
You know me, I love to travel by train! It's the perfect excuse to dress up. For my trip, I chose a fabulous pink tweed skirt suit - all the colour of a delicate blush. A pop of pink sparkle was added to my vintage hat, perfect for concealing the fabulous pink wig under a jaunty feather plume. Oh, the thrill of watching the landscape unfold! It truly felt like something out of an Agatha Christie novel. And to top it all off, I had the chance to catch up with my dear friend, Priscilla, who was joining me on the journey. We shared laughs, stories, and maybe a little prosecco. What’s a journey without prosecco, right?
Arriving in Style
By the time I reached Billingham, my enthusiasm was brimming! The fairground buzz was in the air, music was already playing, and people were buzzing. I could tell that this was going to be a phenomenal night! For the grand arrival, I switched out my tweed for something even more dramatic: A breathtaking pink and silver tutu, adorned with a rainbow of sequins! A touch of vintage glamour, with a whole lot of sparkle.
A Night of Glitz and Glam
The stage was set up right in the heart of the fair, and as soon as I took centre stage, the energy of the crowd was incredible. My "Pink Power" set was a dazzling hit! The people of Billingham were so enthusiastic; they cheered, clapped, and danced along with me. I just love performing for people who genuinely enjoy themselves! But my night wasn't all about my set - the fairground was packed with dazzling activities and charming stalls. It was like stepping into a real-life pantomime, and I absolutely loved every minute of it.
Pink Tutu Sparkles at The Fair
Oh, the games and the rides! It truly felt like I had stepped back in time. One of my absolute highlights was a fairground fortune-teller. She had the most incredible, flamboyant outfit - feathers, sequins, and a crown - oh, she was practically my soulmate. We spent a good hour chatting, laughing, and of course, getting some fantastic predictions about my future! You bet I will be making pink tutu magic all the way to the top - that's what she told me, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
A Touch of Grace
Of course, being a dedicated ballet fan, I was drawn to the most charming little ballet school set up right at the edge of the fair. I was able to take a lovely lesson with the local kids and it truly touched my heart. I had a fantastic time sharing my love of ballet with a whole new generation!
Dinner Under The Stars
A perfect day deserves a perfect end, and there's no place more perfect than under the stars, dining with friends. I joined a group of performers for a meal at a beautiful restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We shared delicious food and even more fantastic stories. You wouldn't believe the gossip we unearthed from other fairgrounds, but that’s a story for another day.
The Magic of Billingham
My visit to Billingham was everything I had hoped for and more! The journey was enchanting, the fair was extraordinary, and the people were just magical. I’m already planning my next visit! Who knows, maybe Billingham is the place for my next Pink Tutu Sparkle-tastic musical! But hey, what I love the most about my work is that it’s not about the destinations, it's about the journey itself. Every day I try to make it the most dazzling journey possible!
