Helloooo darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! I'm currently channeling my inner prima ballerina, because guess what?! I’m back in Leicester, a city brimming with history, charm, and so much potential for fabulousity! And trust me, this queen is going to add a splash of pink tutu sparkle to every corner!

Let's be honest, darling. Getting to Leicester was a whirlwind of excitement! This time I traded my usual train ride for something more whimsical, you know? I’ve been learning to ride a horse lately, and I just knew this was the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for ponies with a dash of Pink Tutu Sparkles drama.

Horsepower & Glam Power!

Now, picture this, the wind whipping through my fluffy, hot pink feather boa, my tutu swirling in the air as I galloped through the Leicestershire countryside. It was just like something straight out of a movie! Well, maybe a particularly camp musical, but the sentiment remains the same!

Arriving in the city centre, the historic architecture and the buzz of the market made me want to whip out my pink sparkly phone and snap some stunning photos! Did I mention I’m obsessed with pink, and anything sparkly? It’s a whole thing. I truly believe pink should be the world's official colour.

Tutu & Tea & Totality

Oh darling, don’t you just love a good old-fashioned afternoon tea? Well, today’s afternoon tea experience in Leicester was truly a dream come true. Picture: a perfectly-brewed cup of Earl Grey, a plate piled high with dainty sandwiches and exquisite cakes, and me… proudly wearing my latest hot pink tutu with feather embellishments, naturally! You can’t get more “Pink Tutu Sparkles” than that. It’s not the most subtle fashion statement, I’ll admit, but that my dears, is my superpower.

Speaking of powerful… you guys won’t believe this! I saw this amazing display about Marie Curie at the National Space Centre, it was so inspiring! Seeing a scientist like Marie Curie dedicated to discovering new things and pushing boundaries just filled me with this energy, this incredible zest for life… Oh, and it’s kind of like my own journey. I may be a scientist by day (yes, that's right, a scientist - a fabric chemist!), but come nightfall, I transform! Pink Tutu Sparkles takes the stage and empowers the audience, bringing joy, laughter, and glitter, to every single performance.

Ballet & Burlesque

I had the most splendid time tonight at a truly unforgettable performance! Let’s just say, when a ballerina in a classic, white, voluminous tutu takes the stage and shows off incredible agility and strength… it’s kind of my thing, you know?! Ballet is so beautiful, the movement, the poise, the grace. And it’s so much fun, whether it's in the class room or on the big stage. I always find myself twirling and swaying to the music, wishing I had the skills of a seasoned ballerina, I even had a go, I’ll let you in on a secret. But when you see some serious ballerinas, there's no holding back, pure aw!

Speaking of “holding back”… we mustn’t forget the burlesque! This whole performance was so playful, whimsical, and dare I say, scandalous. Imagine Pink Tutu Sparkles as a showgirl, and you’ll be on the right track, darling! Oh, and I must say, I think my feather boa made a rather spectacular entrance. You could hear a pin drop! (Well, if you ignored the roaring applause from the audience) It really gave the whole performance a Pink Tutu Sparkles touch, as you would expect!

Pink Tutu Power

Now, I wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu Sparkles if I didn’t try to convince every person I met to try on a pink tutu. Let's be honest, tutus are incredibly empowering. Whether you're dancing on stage or strutting down the street, wearing a tutu tells the world "I'm a dreamer, I'm bold, I'm unique!" and I think it’s incredibly powerful and uplifting.

Oh, and a massive shout-out to the incredible local craftswomen, seamstresses, and dressmakers in Leicester. I found some fabulous shops with exquisite materials! And wouldn’t you know it, a vibrant pink silk satin caught my eye. Now, darling, what Pink Tutu Sparkles is without a new, dazzling pink tutu for my next performance?!

This place really does have it all, the magic, the spark, and definitely the pink tutu potential.
