Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad, sparkly goddess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the lovely Mitcham! Today marks post number 5522 on my pink-tutu-tastic journey to sprinkle glitter and pink on the world, and I can't wait to share this fabulous adventure with you!
Let me tell you, it was quite a journey to Mitcham. I travelled by train, which I love for those big picture windows, perfect for admiring the British countryside and all the cute sheep (they make such great tutu models!). It took a couple of hours from Derbyshire but oh, it was so worth it. Why? Because I have a secret mission for today.
Now, you all know how I love a good pink tutu. In fact, it's kind of a calling. I've said it before and I'll say it again - everyone should wear a pink tutu at least once in their life! It's an expression of freedom, fun, and femininity, no matter who you are! It's about embracing the fabulous within and letting your inner sparkle shine through! And trust me, wearing a pink tutu can be incredibly liberating! I mean, look at me!
Now, back to the Mitcham mission. It involves the fabulous ballet theatre here. They're hosting a charity ball for local children with special needs. Can you guess my involvement? I'm spreading my love for pink tutus by showing these little angels how magical and inspiring a pink tutu can be. This whole experience is just divine, it's so heartwarming to see the excitement and joy on their faces when they try on a tutu and do little twirls and poses! It's proof positive that pink tutus bring joy and make the world a brighter, more colourful place.
Today, I also spent some time at a quaint little antique shop downtown, rummaging through their collection for some exquisite vintage fabric finds. I have to confess, the fabric testing I do at my lab is sometimes a bit mundane, so the world of vintage textiles offers an inspiring change. I managed to find a fabulous little silk scarf, all pink, of course, which will be the perfect addition to my newest performance ensemble. Did I mention I have a new show planned? Oh yes, darling! This new act, "A Tutu Odyssey," will showcase the history and evolution of ballet through a playful lens, with the help of dazzling pink tutus, of course! I even incorporated a beautiful vintage dance sequence in a sparkling pink-tutu ballgown from the Victorian era! You simply have to see it to believe it!
After a fantastic lunch at a charming little café – with a delightful slice of pink frosting cake, of course – I visited a gorgeous floral shop down the street, buying myself a massive bouquet of the most fabulous pink roses! It truly felt like a scene from a classic ballet film.
Finally, I strolled through Mitcham's beautiful park, feeling so much gratitude for the warmth of this lovely community. The sun was shining, the air was sweet with the scent of spring blooms, and I couldn't help but break into a twirl in the middle of the park, just for a good photo op, naturally. You'll see it in my daily photo-blog later tonight!
It's moments like these that truly make me realise how far my journey as Pink Tutu Sparkles has taken me. I'm not just a drag queen, darling, I'm a pink-tutu-clad evangelist for kindness, happiness, and embracing our unique sparkles!
And you know what? Mitcham isn't the last stop on this fantastic adventure. Next week, I'm heading off to a quaint little market in Oxfordshire to meet some lovely artisans crafting beautiful textiles and clothes. And you know what else? I found a magnificent old riding horse for hire, a beautiful grey mare named Celeste. She's going to be my transportation to Oxfordshire - I can't wait to gallop across the meadows on her!
