Bangor Bound: Tutu Queen Travels! (Post #5531)

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad, sparkly queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and I'm just bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures with you. Today's post is all about my fabulous trip to the enchanting city of Bangor!

You know how much I love travelling. The thrill of seeing new places, experiencing different cultures, and of course, spreading the pink tutu gospel far and wide! And when it comes to travel, there's just nothing better than a good old-fashioned train journey. I simply adore the rhythm of the rails, the clinking of the carriages, and the quiet moments for contemplation (and a bit of glitter touch-up, naturally!).

So, off I went, a vision in pink, aboard the 11.12 from London Euston, armed with a travel mug brimming with pink lemonade and my trusty sewing kit. The journey to Bangor was an absolute delight, I had a whole carriage to myself – a bit like my own personal royal compartment! I even struck up a conversation with a lovely gentleman who turned out to be a passionate ballet fan! You see, darlings, even on the train, the Tutu Queen is spreading the love!

By the time I arrived in Bangor, I was positively glowing, ready to embark on my magical quest of pink tutu persuasion. First stop? A spot of lunch in a quaint little tea room. You simply cannot go to Bangor without trying a proper Welsh cake, and let me tell you, the raspberry and cream one I had was heavenly.

But it wasn't all scones and tea, darlings! My main event was a stunning ballet performance at the prestigious Bangor Arts Centre. It was a modern dance piece, full of vibrant colours and intricate choreography, with a stunning set design. I felt inspired, moved, and of course, the urge to get up on stage myself!

Later that evening, I popped over to the beautiful Bangor Cathedral for a spot of cultural immersion. The stained-glass windows were simply breathtaking, and the ancient architecture left me feeling truly humbled. There’s something so peaceful about being surrounded by history, and let me tell you, my sparkly tutu seemed to shimmer even brighter against those ancient stones!

As I prepared to bid farewell to this wonderful city, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. But like all good journeys, this too must end. I’ll never forget my time in Bangor – from the delicious cakes to the captivating dance, the majestic cathedral to the welcoming locals.

Speaking of locals, you might be wondering what I was wearing on this adventure, wouldn’t you? Well, naturally, my attire was a reflection of the spirit of Bangor, combining the graceful charm of the ballet with the heritage of the cathedral. Let me give you the lowdown:

  • My dress: A shimmering blush pink silk gown, with delicate tulle ruffles cascading down the bodice and a train that swept along the floor like a whisper of fairy dust.
  • My hat: A classic pillbox, adorned with a feather plume that flowed behind me like a ballerina's hair, it also matched the soft pink silk flower adorning my dress.
  • My jewellery: A cascade of pearls and glittering crystals, sparkling like a constellation against the backdrop of the cathedral’s stained-glass windows.
  • My shoes: The quintessential statement: Pink sparkly platform stilettos that shimmered as I moved.

You know I love a good outfit story, so if you'd like more detailed photos of my entire ensemble, pop on over to the www.pink-tutu.com website for an exclusive look!

The best part about this whole journey? I spotted several people wearing pink! There was a little girl with a beautiful tutu while we were waiting for the train, and a group of teenagers in pink hoodies in the shopping centre. Don't you just love a splash of pink in the world, darlings?

Bangor is a truly special city and I highly recommend adding it to your own pink-tutu itinerary. Who knows, maybe you’ll bump into your favourite Tutu Queen while you’re there! Until then, darlings, keep sparkling, keep believing, and most importantly, keep twirling in that pink tutu!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (Alex by day)
