Scarborough Sparkle: TutuQueen Takes on the Coast!

Darlings, grab a cuppa and a scone! Today, TutuQueen takes on the glorious, windswept coast of Scarborough. It's all about that sparkle, darlings, as I've donned a tutu made of hundreds of little pink sequins and paired it with a cherry-red corseted bodice, to really get my pink mojo going! Let's be honest, it's hard not to be full of joy when you're wearing a giant, frothy pink tulle masterpiece, even if the Yorkshire breeze is threatening to blow me over like a dandelion seed.

Scarborough called to me, with its quaint little shops and the stunning pier - think vintage fairground rides, caramelised popcorn and the unmistakable seaside breeze! Now, you wouldn't think a gal who thrives in all things pink and frilly would be a sucker for a seaside town, but trust me, the combination here is pure magic. The gentle crashing of waves against the cliffs, the playful screams from children enjoying the rides... all accompanied by my own whooshing as I whirl about the promenade, my pink tutu making its own ooh and ahh moments!

But before we explore all the fun Scarborough has to offer, let me spill the tea! How did this lovely, girly-girl TutuQueen get here? Oh, it was another crazy train journey! (Let's be honest, darling, a good old fashioned train trip, with comfy seating, a cuppa and perhaps a few cheeky truffles is the only way to travel!)

You know I love to share a little slice of my everyday life with you, so buckle up, sweeties. It all began when the "Big Pink Train" (I call it that, it has such a fabulously glamorous nickname!), chugged me along the Derbyshire countryside. I boarded with my luggage overflowing with pink and glittery outfits for my performances and of course an emergency supply of sequins. (One can never have too much sparkle, darling!). This journey had me feeling positively Pink Panther as the sunshine bounced off my ruby red platform shoes and reflected back at me through the windows.

Then, all of a sudden, there it was - a beacon of beautiful British seaside charm. Scarborough's train station greeted me with its grand old clock and that delicious, oh so nostalgic seaside scent. Ah, the magic of travel!

But don't worry, darling, my Scarborough journey isn't just about getting there. The real adventure began once I settled into my seaside hotel, the Seaview Splendor. Now, imagine a Victorian Belle Époque mansion, painted a blush pink hue. Think velvet curtains, gilded mirrors, and a bathtub so big, you could do your entire ballet routine in it (don't worry, I was tempted!). My little corner of paradise even had a private balcony overlooking the bustling harbour, complete with a chaise lounge and enough space to showcase my new pink feathered boa!

With a little twinkle in my eye and my new fluffy pink boa draped around my shoulders, I headed out to explore. And what a delightful journey it was! My trusty steed - a vintage Vespa painted a sparkling pink, naturally - became my chariot, taking me through the charming streets, passing the Scarborough Art Gallery which I absolutely have to visit tomorrow. (There's a whole Pink Flamingo exhibition coming up, can you believe it?!)!

The shops, the little cafes, the friendly locals - all brought a smile to my face, a smile so wide that even my bright pink lipstick couldn't hide it! And my darling, that wasn't all.

Oh no, my absolute favourite part of this spectacular trip was my impromptu dance with the lovely folk dancing troupe on the seafront. It seems, Scarborough is alive with joy! The Scarborough Folklore Society held a street dance celebration, filled with colourful outfits and energetic steps, right there by the sandy shores!

Now, picture this: Me, all pink and fabulous, standing among a sea of vibrant traditional dancers. The music pulsed through the air, the rhythm a calling for my dancing shoes. Suddenly, the troupe’s leader beckoned me over with a broad grin, and just like that, I found myself a part of their show.

That night, as the sky turned from dusky lavender to a midnight blue, I stood on the Scarborough Open Air Theatre stage with my fabulous, glittering tutu. The sea breeze kissed my face as I twirled beneath the stars. There, under the endless sky, surrounded by the energy of the town, I realised Scarborough wasn't just a town, it was a symphony of colour and music. It felt like I had landed on the perfect set for a tutu-tastic adventure.

But don’t get too comfy with your hot beverage, darling! The adventures are just starting... There’s the Scarborough Castle, the enchanting Yorkshire Museum, and of course, more pink tutu adventures.

You can trust that I'll keep you all in the loop (it’s the least I can do!). Stay tuned, darling! More pinkness and adventures to come... until then, remember to wear your pink tutu with confidence and let your fabulousness shine through.

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
