Salisbury Sparkle! (Post #5571)

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, bringing you another fabulous travel blog from the world of sparkly pink tulle. Today, I'm whisking you all away to the charming town of Salisbury in Wiltshire, and trust me, it's as lovely as a box of pink macarons!

Let me just tell you, this trip was absolutely magical! I travelled by train, of course – what else is there? Nothing beats the romance of a carriage journey, with the countryside whizzing past like a giant, colourful painting. It was like stepping back in time, except instead of a bonnets and bloomers, I had a glorious, full-length pink tulle tutu, sparkling with silver sequins! You can never go wrong with a statement piece, can you?

I arrived in Salisbury just as the sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of purple, pink, and orange - like one of my fabulous tulle outfits! I quickly checked into my charming B&B - a cosy little place with floral wallpaper and a vintage record player – they just know how to treat a queen! They had even left a little treat on the bedside table - a tiny pink tutu cake!

Once I was settled in, it was time for a bit of a "Pink Tutu Sparkle" walkabout. This historic town is stunning, with cobbled streets and ancient buildings. My first stop had to be Salisbury Cathedral, of course! It's simply magnificent! Imagine a building as tall as a tower of pink tutus and just as majestic! I posed for photos in front of the magnificent spire, striking some truly theatrical poses for my Instagram followers - I just had to show the world that even a cathedral can benefit from a touch of pink tutu sparkle!

Now, you know me and my love for ballet. The very next day, I headed straight for the Salisbury Arts Centre - their performance schedule looked positively delightful! I got to watch a performance of "Coppelia", and let me tell you, those dancers really took me back to my days in the University Ballet Club! I remember trying on my first tutu – it was for a charity fundraising event and oh my, it just felt right! It was like I was born to twirl. That moment is how Pink Tutu Sparkle came to life! I mean, honestly, if the first time you try on a tutu, you feel as good as I did that day, then it is simply a sign, don’t you think?

This weekend was pure magic, from a delightful tea-break at the The Old House (did you know they make amazing, pinky-coloured gin? ), to a night at a fabulous pub with a truly delightful karaoke session, where I even managed to teach some locals my favourite "Pink Tutu Sparkle" moves – and yes, there was plenty of "I Will Survive" singing in between! Who knew a tiny town like Salisbury could hold so much pink tutu sparkle?

Speaking of sparkles, you've gotta see the fabulous shops in Salisbury – a queen could easily get lost browsing the vintage clothing boutiques and cute jewellery shops, not to mention the local flower markets! Did I tell you how much I love floral prints and patterns? Especially when they match the colours in my tutu, naturally!

For me, a trip wouldn’t be complete without indulging in a local delicacy, and in Salisbury, this was none other than the infamous Salisbury steak. It's basically the ultimate comfort food – succulent, juicy, and the perfect treat after a day filled with dancing and sparkle! They say that Salisbury steak dates back to the days of Henry VII - it seems that people have always appreciated a good, juicy meal. My version is naturally a little more colourful! Think tender, red meat, bathed in a pink-tinted, creamy peppercorn sauce – you could say it’s the perfect pairing for a princess-in-tulle like myself!

To be honest, my trip was pretty much a whirlwind! But, that's the beauty of these little escapes, isn't it? There's so much to discover, so many people to meet, and so many opportunities for a little "Pink Tutu Sparkles" magic!

But this journey doesn't end here! I’m on my way to Edinburgh, the city of castles and kilts - yes, I plan on having some proper fun, because who better to bring sparkle and colour to Scotland’s grand city than Pink Tutu Sparkles?

So stay tuned, lovelies! You can always find me at www.pink-tutu.com, and don't forget to @PinkTutuSparkle on Instagram! Until then, keep those pink tutus at the ready, and remember: "Spread the pink, spread the sparkle, and let's all have a little fun!”
