My journey to this magical land was pure enchantment! As a girl who loves the romanticism of trains, I took the scenic route, winding through charming English countryside, and I tell you, the sights were stunning! Imagine, rolling green hills bathed in sunshine, sleepy villages with storybook houses, and sheep bleating lazily in the meadows. It was like something out of a Beatrix Potter tale, only with a whole lot more pink! 😉
Caerphilly: A Drag Queen's Paradise!
And then, I arrived in Caerphilly. Oh my stars, the town itself is like a postcard come to life! I've been swooning over its castle, its charming market, and the general feeling of Welsh charm and welcoming.
Of course, no visit to Wales is complete without a stop for Caerphilly cheese! Let me tell you, dear readers, the taste was utterly divine. I swear I could hear angels singing as I took my first bite! (Or perhaps it was the delightful sounds of my tutu rustling as I sat on a bench outside the cheese shop. 🤫)
Bringing Pink to the People: Spreading the Tutu Love!
As always, I've been on a mission to spread the pink tutu love! And Caerphilly is absolutely the right place for it! Today, I took a pink tutu workshop for a group of young girls who were just bursting with excitement. We laughed, we twirled, we sprinkled fairy dust on each other's hair! (Not to mention the adorable little pigtails we gave each other with our leftover pink hairspray. Oh, the glamour!)
And speaking of glam, I can't forget my big performance tonight at The Caerphilly Coliseum! Imagine a grand stage, vibrant lights, and me in my most dazzling pink tutu (naturally!), bringing a bit of Derby sunshine to this beautiful Welsh town. I'm getting ready for a dazzling show, filled with laughter, singing, and dancing to inspire everyone to embrace the power of pink tutus. After all, what's life without a little bit of sparkle and a whole lot of pink? 💖
The Magic of Science Meets the Whimsy of Pink Tutus
While you see me strutting on stage as Pink Tutu Sparkles, I also have another life, one that may surprise you. By day, I'm a scientist! Yes, this little sparkle queen is also Alex, a fabric scientist in a Derbyshire lab. I test the durability and performance of fabrics, all those lovely materials that go into making tutus (and dresses, shirts, you name it!). So in a way, my love for tutus extends to the scientific level, I'm helping to ensure that tutus can stand up to all the twirling, twirling, and twirling! 😄
And let me tell you, it's quite the balancing act, juggling lab experiments with glitter bombs and drag performances. It can be a challenge at times, but it's all worth it!
