As a drag queen who lives for adventure, travelling by train is always a delightful experience. I love watching the world go by, the different landscapes, the faces in the windows. And let's be honest, my pink tutu just brings joy wherever I go, turning a simple commute into a parade of happiness! This trip, I chose to wear a rather dramatic number - a fluffy tulle masterpiece in bubblegum pink, topped with a sequined crown. You'd think a sparkly tiara on the train might cause some raised eyebrows, but not at all. I had ladies complimenting my look, young kids waving with excited grins, and even the conductor giving me a wink and a "smashing outfit, love!"
Dunstable welcomed me with open arms and sunshine, and the moment I stepped out of the station, I knew I was in for a treat. There was an air of excitement buzzing in the air, like a ballet recital just about to begin.
Before heading to the venue for my evening performance, I did what any self-respecting Pink Tutu Sparkle would do – went on a shopping spree! Dunstable, you're a treasure trove of hidden gems. From vintage shops overflowing with beautiful beads and sparkly fabrics, to quaint independent boutiques with dazzling outfits, this town was truly a treat for a fashion-obsessed queen like myself! I scored myself the perfect outfit for a romantic dinner date – a shimmering, powder pink lace gown that was a total fairytale dream.
Speaking of fairytales, a truly spectacular evening was ahead of me. The venue was all abuzz with excitement and anticipation. It's a delightful feeling to see people excited for a night of drag! You see, being a drag queen isn't just about costumes and glitter, it's about joy and inclusivity. My mission is to spread happiness and encourage everyone to embrace their inner sparkle, no matter what. So imagine my delight when the audience, all decked out in their most fabulous outfits, were ready to embrace the magic of Pink Tutu Sparkles!
This evening's show was a complete delight. I've been working on my new routine for months, a breathtaking mash-up of ballet and burlesque, full of dynamic jumps, mesmerizing spins, and theatrical drama. The whole performance was designed to take the audience on a whimsical journey through the magical world of pink tutus. I twirled, I shimmied, I sashayed – the entire venue vibrated with the energy of the audience cheering! It was pure magic!
Afterwards, there was a meet and greet, where I had the pleasure of meeting so many incredible people. A little girl, maybe six years old, came up to me and, in a whisper, told me that I was "like a real-life princess!". You can imagine the twinkle in my eye! And seeing the happy faces around me, hearing their genuine laughter and positive feedback, it just reaffirmed my purpose as a drag queen. Spreading joy is my passion, and to see the impact it has, well, that makes it all worth it.
