Now, hold onto your tutus, darlings, because today's adventure took me right to the heart of Wales, to the charming little town of Pont-y-pool! I've been itching to explore more of the Welsh countryside and I can't deny, the name just sounded like a storybook fairytale!
I've got to say, the journey was an absolute dream! I opted for the scenic route, travelling by train of course! Nothing beats a leisurely journey on the railway with a good book, a steaming cuppa, and the endless views flashing by. I felt like I was stepping into a vintage film!
As the train pulled into Pont-y-pool station, the air was filled with the sweet smell of fresh mountain air and the most adorable little shops lined the main street. I felt like I'd been whisked away to another time, a place untouched by the fast-paced city life.
Before heading out to my gig at the local theatre, I had to indulge in a little shopping spree! I mean, what's a Pink Tutu Sparkle adventure without a little retail therapy, right? The town was bursting with quaint little boutiques filled with colourful clothing, artisan crafts, and delightful vintage finds. You know me, darlings, I couldn't resist picking up a couple of vintage brooches for my next big stage look. Let's just say, they're totally going to complete my upcoming Victorian-inspired tutu ensemble - prepare to be blown away.
The theatre, a gorgeous old building with charming arches and stained glass windows, was a delight. It felt so grand, almost like stepping onto a stage myself, just waiting to perform for the enthusiastic audience. They were all smiles, dressed up in their finest, eager for a bit of glitz and glamour in their lives. I even spotted a couple of fellow tutus in the crowd, always wonderful to see my pink family rocking it!
As soon as the lights dimmed and the music started, I felt the energy electrifying the room! I strutted out onto the stage, my tutu twirling with every step. The crowd roared their approval! Their smiles and cheers were a sweet, sweet melody, and the feeling of sharing my love for performance with such an appreciative audience is truly magical.
You know, darling, I can't help but reflect on how this whole drag journey began. Back in my science days at uni, a good friend dragged me along to try on a tutu for charity. I didn't know it at the time, but it was love at first wear! That tiny pink tutu transformed me, it felt so magical, so full of life. That feeling is exactly what I aim to bring to each and every performance!
And oh, darling, I couldn't forget about my real life scientific adventures! Today, while working in the lab testing fabrics, I came across a beautiful new pink material - you guessed it, it was sparkly. Imagine the possibilities, darlings, just imagine! Perhaps a sequined tutu? Gasp It might just be the most fabulous fabric invention ever. Stay tuned, darlings, for all the exciting updates!
Before heading back home, I indulged in a delicious Welsh lamb stew, a must-have in a country so passionate about its culinary delights. Then, just as the sun was setting, I boarded my train.
