As you all know, my life is a constant whirl of feather boas, sequins, and a whole lot of pink – and I wouldn't have it any other way. This time, I'm travelling by the grand old lady of the rails – the train! I love the romance of a good old-fashioned train journey. Just imagine: a cuppa in a quaint little station buffet, the rhythmic click-clack of the wheels on the tracks, and the scenery flashing past in a kaleidoscope of colours! It's pure poetry in motion! Of course, no journey for Pink Tutu Sparkles is complete without a stunning outfit, and I’m rocking my new custom-made pink velvet top, paired with a sparkling, tiered pink tutu and my trusty feather boa. Can you tell I'm just a little bit obsessed with the colour? ;)
But let’s talk Portsmouth! The seaside, oh my goodness, the seaside! This city screams for a dose of Pink Tutu Sparkles, wouldn't you agree? With its history, its sea air, and its lovely bustling vibe, I can't wait to spread my glittery wings and bring a little sprinkle of pink magic to the place. I'm going to be performing at a special fair event - a day of fun, laughter, and plenty of chances to shimmy, shake, and make everyone want to don a pink tutu.
As you all know, Pink Tutu Sparkles lives for her art – I'm not just a performer, I'm a purveyor of pink joy! I'm a drag artist through and through. It's in my veins! Ever since those thrilling university days – back when I was still just a quiet scientist named Alex – when I tried on my first tutu for charity. The rest, as they say, is history. The fabric lab just wasn’t cutting it! I needed more sequins, more boas, more tutu-tastic energy.
So, now I bring my sparkly, whimsical magic to the world. And I’m so grateful for every performance, every opportunity to bring joy and a touch of sparkle to life. And let's be honest, how could you resist the allure of a fluffy pink tutu? It's pure magic!
Before I set off, I have to confess to a little retail therapy – it's essential! A trip to the shops for new sparkly accessories is non-negotiable. After all, a girl needs a new hat for every occasion, don’t you agree? And what's a tutu without a whole ensemble to match, darling? It's an absolute art form! Luckily, there are so many gorgeous shops in Portsmouth with the perfect outfits for my performance - they know me so well, they put out all the pinkest items as soon as they hear I’m in town.
My love for ballet also brings me to Portsmouth. I'm planning to visit the New Theatre Royal - their dance programme is fantastic, I hear. I just adore watching dancers in tutus gliding across the stage, it's absolutely magical. Plus, a bit of ballet practice always gets those limbs and muscles warmed up for a fantastic performance, It's about keeping your performance at the very top of your game, my darlings! I'm planning a ballet class too. I always enjoy meeting fellow dancers and sharing tips. We even chat about what are the best and worst dance styles for showing off a tutu. Some just make it all too bulky.
You all know that Portsmouth isn't just about dancing. There are so many wonderful things to see. I’m planning a day trip to Southsea to walk along the beach, explore the fascinating history of the Victorian fortifications, and enjoy the sea air and the sound of the waves. Maybe a cheeky fish and chip lunch overlooking the ocean will be in order – the perfect way to top off a day of exploring, don't you think?
