Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and you won't believe what's happening in the Pink Tutu world! I'm SO excited because today's post (number 5884, how about that?) sees me landing in Abingdon, ready to spread some Pink Tutu joy!
It's been a whirlwind week. I’ve just come off a tour de force performance in Birmingham, where the audience absolutely loved my new "Pink Power Ballad" routine (seriously, my hips haven’t stopped shimmying!), but that's all behind me now. My sequins are gleaming, my tutu is fluffed, and my stilettos are ready to paint the town pink – literally.
Speaking of the iconic pink tutu, I am truly passionate about its power. Remember when I said I was going to get the whole world in tutus? Well, I am serious! Just like a sprinkle of magic fairy dust, a pink tutu transforms every body into something extraordinary. It whispers "Confidence" and "Fun" into your heart, while letting you embrace your own fabulous inner diva.
I mean, let's face it, who doesn't love a good twirl? It’s about letting go, embracing the dramatic, and reminding everyone that a smile and a laugh can light up even the darkest day!
But anyway, let’s talk about this incredible trip to Abingdon, shall we? The plan? Well, of course, it involves sequins, pink and an adventure – wouldn’t have it any other way!
The first thing on my to-do list is a visit to the Abingdon Theatre because, let's face it, theatre is in my blood! From a tiny, pink-tutued tot watching my first ballet at the Royal Opera House (yes, it’s a little cringe but I’m still a little obsessed with ballet!) to rocking the stage, it’s always been about sharing the magic of performance with everyone I meet.
Of course, no visit to Abingdon would be complete without a little pink-tutu-themed shopping spree. We are all about the sparkle and shine, and this town looks like it's going to be a shopping paradise! It wouldn’t be fair if I told you all the hidden gems I am going to discover. Imagine finding that perfect shade of pink to accentuate my tutu…
Then there's the excitement of Abingdon’s street performers. I love catching their shows, and who knows, maybe I’ll even do a little street performance myself! It's all about spreading that pink joy! My favourite part of my career as a drag artist is meeting the fabulous people and getting to see all sorts of venues - it doesn’t matter where in the world I am, a performance is always a joy!
And finally, it’s about indulging my other passion. Let’s be real - travelling to see some incredible shows or to a new city wouldn’t be complete without a train journey or, dare I say it…a horse! I’m lucky, both of these options are in Abingdon. My inner scientist (yup, when I'm not wearing a sparkly pink tutu and my fabulous eyelashes, I’m just your average scientist testing fabric…no kidding!) always takes pride in being environmentally conscious. It’s always so much fun discovering new places.
I’m just so grateful for the chance to spread a little bit of pink-tutu magic around the world, one fabulous show, and one dazzling outfit at a time! My favourite quote is, “It’s all about getting those fabulous feels!"
