Hello darlings, it's your favourite pink tutu wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles! 👋 Today I'm so excited to share with you my latest adventure, all the way up in the Lake District! 🏔️
You know I adore travelling, and Kendal was just calling out to me. A bit like a horse drawn carriage at the fair! 🐴 But I'll get back to the carriage bit in a bit. It's important for me to tell you all about this fabulous, totally amazing place, because it's a proper "get-your-pink-tutu-on" kinda place. It's got character and is like no place I've ever been!
Remember me telling you last week that I’d be going off to Kendal? You guessed right, darlings, it was a show for me! 🎤 They called it "The Grandest Show", and oh, it was! 🎪 And guess what? I totally rocked a fab pink sparkly tutu that was designed specifically for the stage, with a shimmery fabric that caught all the lights! 🤩 It was like dancing with a thousand fairy lights - just my kinda sparkle, you know what I mean? ✨
Before the show, I popped down to the town square and, oh my goodness, there was this amazing ballet school! I simply had to go inside! It was the perfect place to warm up for the big performance, even though I was wearing a shimmering pink tutu that felt about a thousand miles away from my usual leotard! 🩰
While I was there, they showed me a beautiful new pair of pointe shoes - can you believe that! It was a genuine ballerina's dream - they had satin ribbons and all! 🩰 I really felt a connection with these shoes - maybe a sign of future Pink Tutu Sparkles ballet performances! But I can't just stand in the middle of the square and pirouette! My mind goes haywire with dance moves as soon as I'm in a tutu, that’s my thing, you see!
My fabulous drag journey, well, it actually all started at university! I was studying science! 👩🔬 Don't get me wrong, I loved the whole science thing, but, at the same time, I knew I wasn’t a typical scientist. In fact, my uni lab became a place where my inner sparkle and the world of drag began to shine through. My heart skipped a beat when I discovered the uni’s ballet club - my ultimate love for dancing. I found this dusty old pink tutu at a charity event and decided to put it on! And, you're not going to believe this, I was transformed! 💖 There it was! The spark that led me to the pink life and it's become a major part of who I am today. I now work testing fabric for new clothing designs – not the science side of fabrics, you see – the “looks-good” side of fabrics! My skills in spotting amazing new shimmery and glittery materials have come in very handy!
Right now, I'm sitting in this cosy little cafe in Kendal, enjoying the aroma of fresh coffee and a slice of scrumptious pink cake! 💖 And yes, darlings, it really is pink. Oh, it's almost a Pink Tutu Sparkles dream come true - pink cake, pink tutus, a beautiful little town! It's all getting too much - it’s a beautiful day to be pink! 💕
I took a horse and carriage ride around Kendal! I was hoping for a traditional black carriage, you know, the classic fairy tale one. But I was presented with the most fabulously, beautifully, gorgeous pink carriage. I told you it was a Pink Tutu Sparkles dream! ✨ I felt like a fairytale princess – with pink sparkles in my hair, a pink tulle tutu, and of course, that fantastically pink carriage with it’s shining wheels and lovely horsey steeds! 🐴
I simply must tell you all about this amazing carriage. I know a lot of you have dreams of travelling by carriage and I truly think everyone deserves a carriage ride! But where can you possibly find the pink carriage of your dreams? It was my lucky day as it's actually been specially built for this area by this gorgeous company who makes fabulous horses and carriages for fairground and other special events - truly bespoke! I swear it was made for me! 💖 And guess what else! They do tailor made pink horses! I am desperate for a pink horsey to ride alongside me, I feel like I’m truly going to have a blast with it and make the carriage journey that little bit more ‘pink-tutu-fied’. 🤩
I’ve already been speaking with them about bringing a horse and carriage with my very own pink sparkly custom designed, Pink Tutu Sparkles, drag themed decorations to this summer's events - my special Pink Tutu Sparkles Fairground! This is going to be the most magical fairground and I can’t wait for you all to come along for a visit! There will be fun fair games, a dance floor, a bouncy castle and, you guessed it, an amazing pink bouncy castle!! 🥳
Kendal’s been such an amazing adventure - and you know me! My love of travelling! A little peek into what's in my carry-on, well, aside from all my amazing make-up brushes and hairspray (a pink bottle, obviously!) you can expect plenty of sparkly headbands and my Pink Tutu Sparkles badge. I really don't leave home without it. 🌟
I travel a lot and there is no other mode of travel than taking a long-distance train journey - all that time for applying makeup and reading! This really makes for a magical experience - especially when I arrive in my sparkly outfit with my sparkly tote bag and get some super amazing stares! 🤩 It's all about spreading the love of pink! 💖 The journey really is part of the show. My mission, of course, is to get the whole world to wear a pink tutu, but my latest mission is to bring pink joy to Kendal and hopefully it will inspire others to add a little sparkle to their own towns.
