It's hard to believe it's been almost five years since I stumbled upon the wonderful world of pink tutus. Back then, I was a scrawny little scientist-in-the-making, struggling through my biochem degree in good ol' Derbyshire. I remember vividly, it was our uni ballet club's charity event, and I bravely tried on a pink tutu for a laugh, with the intention of a quick pic for Instagram. Then, it happened... sparkle magic.
Suddenly, the whole world became a canvas for my dazzling vision: pink tutus, glitter, and glamour, oh my! The scientific rigour of lab work wasn't cutting it anymore. The lab bench felt awfully grey compared to the bright, vibrant stage lights and the joyous laughter of my audiences. I swapped my lab coat for a sparkly pink tutu and never looked back!
Since then, I've travelled the length and breadth of this grand isle, spreading the gospel of pink tutus with every sparkly twirl! I love to take the train, it's the most fabulous way to travel - it gives me time to put together a show-stopping outfit, grab a cuppa (always with extra milk, you know me!), and enjoy the scenery whizzing past my window. And when the occasion demands, I even climb on horseback, feeling like a fairy princess out of a classic storybook.
Now, you might think Slough wouldn't be the most glamorous stop on the Pink Tutu Sparkles tour. But you would be WRONG! Slough turned out to be a hidden gem of bubbly excitement, with a heart full of charm. I popped into a fantastic vintage shop, filled with delightful treasures - think feather boas, sparkling hats, and a treasure trove of glittery gems perfect for my next fabulous outfit. You'd be surprised what you can find tucked away in the most unexpected of places, darling!
And the performance itself? Oh my, the crowds loved me! There was this little girl in the audience, the most adorable little thing, wearing a bright pink tutu of her own. She twirled and skipped, giggling at my jokes, with her Mum clapping enthusiastically. Those are the moments I live for - reminding everyone that a sprinkle of sparkle, and a pinch of pink tutu magic, can truly transform the world, one giggle at a time!
