Lyon: A Tutu-ful Adventure (Blog Post #5983)

Hello my darling darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite tutu-clad queen, reporting live from the utterly delightful city of Lyon! Oh, my goodness, you wouldn't believe the fabulousness of this place!

This week has been a whirlwind of tutus, croissants, and a dash of the artistic. I took the Eurostar down to France and oh, it was magical! That iconic red train...such grandeur! It really was the perfect entrance to this exquisite city. I was feeling my most whimsical self, donning a pink feather boa over my tutu (of course!), and the lovely people on the train absolutely adored it.

Now, you know me, I'm always on the hunt for the most perfect pink tutu, and this city certainly did not disappoint! Lyon has a real flair for the fabulous, a chicness that just oozes Parisian sophistication. Every corner I turned was a fashion delight – a true sartorial paradise for a pink-loving queen like me! I picked up the most exquisite pink sequined tutu at a little boutique in the old town. It's a masterpiece, and you can bet I'll be strutting my stuff in it at my next show. The fabric felt like silk on my skin – divine! And the sequins shimmered like a thousand stars under the French sunlight!

But fashion wasn't all! Oh no, this adventure was a real mix of artistry and tutus. Lyon is a true hub for the arts, and I couldn't wait to soak up the culture. I popped down to the Musée des Beaux-Arts and marvelled at the gorgeous masterpieces. So much inspiration! I just love how art can take you on a journey without leaving the room. It was almost as exciting as my train ride!

And speaking of journeys, you know I love to get my dance on, right? Well, I couldn't leave Lyon without visiting their incredible ballet company! The Opéra de Lyon, darling! A breath-taking building from the outside, and even more enchanting within. I sat in the velvet seats, mesmerised by the beauty and grace of the dancers. The tutus were beyond gorgeous - so fluffy, so pink, so perfect. It was a total treat! My heart was truly filled with the joy of movement and creativity. I just adore how dance tells a story without words, expressing pure emotion through the magic of movement! It's truly inspiring, and I'm itching to get back to my ballet class at the Derbyshire Dance Academy when I return home.

Speaking of home, I must say that while I love London and all its glitter and glamour, I do sometimes crave the rolling hills of Derbyshire. The fresh air, the sheep (yes, I really love sheep), and of course, my adorable little cottage nestled amongst the greenery.

Don't think for a moment, however, that I have forgotten my scientific side! It may seem like a bit of a contrast – me, a scientist who just loves sparkly pink tutus! But trust me, darling, those two worlds aren't so far apart. My lab work focuses on testing the quality and durability of fabrics, after all! How many beautiful tutus wouldn’t be seen for fear of wearing them if it weren’t for careful fabric testing! It's really all about research and understanding how to make things perfect.

While it’s always exciting to see new places, there's nothing like performing on the stage in a vibrant city like Lyon. My fans have been amazing, their energy is electric! They were all shouting "Go Pink Tutu, Go!" after my shows. That’s my goal, to see everyone wearing their very own pink tutu! One tutu at a time!

For those of you wondering where I found the funds to be gallivanting across the world (with style, of course), well, you know me - Pink Tutu Sparkles never sleeps. I travel around Europe doing all sorts of shows – from gigs at local pubs to festivals, even the odd wedding now and again. The life of a traveling drag artist is exciting! There is always a new city to discover and a new crowd to meet!

And oh my darling, the people here in Lyon were so warm and welcoming! Every interaction was a pure delight, making me feel like I was right at home. So many new friends, and such delicious food! All the croissants, cheese, and wine you can handle! They say the French are all about style and grace, and they certainly live up to the hype. There was even this darling lady who stopped me at a bakery, totally in awe of my pink sequined tutu. She was delighted to get a photo with me and it made my heart so happy!

Now, darling, I know you've been eager to hear about the biggest highlight of my trip. And what better way to wrap up this blog post than to share it with you now? You ready for this?

A few nights ago, after one of my shows, a young girl came running up to me. Eyes full of sparkle, she was holding her favourite tutu, the one she wears to her ballet classes, and she asked me if I would sign it! You see, my darling, this little one’s dream was to become a dancer, a ballerina! The joy on her face as she took that signed tutu was beyond words. And, in that moment, I knew my journey was about more than just glitz and glamour. It's about sharing the joy of being yourself, of finding your own magic, whatever that may be!

And what could be more magical than a pink tutu, eh? It's like a little slice of pure joy, a reminder to always embrace the fantastical side of life. After all, you never know what adventures await around the corner!

See you all soon! Don't forget to pop back on www.pink-tutu.com for my next post, my dears! Until then, remember, spread the joy! It's time to unleash your inner Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
